This path among beech trees creates an unexpected frame for art. Those exposed roots are a sculpture you can walk on — the roots of a fallen beech tree, cast in bronze and reintegrated into the path through the wood.

Visited the #Yorkshire #Sculpture Park for the first time today. Fantastic parklands with some world class sculptures on display.

We spent the best part of 6 hours there and probably (almost certainly) didn't see everything.

The #YSP is definitely worth a trip and at only £9.50 per adult is excellent value.

Not easy to capture in a single image! A structure of untreated wood. Vertical slats suggest prison, institution, segregation. Concentric circles create a path and a space in interaction, and contain. Arched pieces over the circular path evoke church. Silver birch trees grow in the circle and between the walls. The eye is drawn upwards.

When I stood leaning with a doorpost at one shoulder and a tree trunk at the other, one was still and the other swaying. Integration is not unity.

And for #FensterFreitag I give you James Turrell's Deer Shelter skyscape at #YSP #Yorkshire #Sculpture Park.

Built in 2006 it is now showing its age a bit, but still gives pause for thought.

There was quite a wind outside. The clouds moving swiftly across the square space in the ceiling. The bright spring sunshine casting a patch of bright light on one wall.

However social democratic #CHP lists include many smaller right-wing Islamist party candidates. I expect that 40 of its MPs will join these small right-wing parties after the elections. The parliament has a total of 600 chairs.
The third alliance is the Labor and Freedom Alliance led by the pro-#Kurdish political movement. It participates in the elections with two separate lists: pro-Kurdish Green Left Party (#YSP) and recently founded Workers' Party (#TİP). #TurkeyElections #Turkey

A massive international mobilisation will therefore be critical to defend democracy in #Turkey . Over the course of the past two years, #Erdoğan 's government has aggressively pushed to imprison the leaders of progressive, pro-Kurdish forces, and has been successful in imposing a de facto ban on their party, the #HDP .
But Turkey's progressive forces aren't defenceless. They have reorganised in a new party, the Green Left Party ( #YSP ), to contest the 14 May #elections .
Progressive International is sending an international delegation to accompany Turkey's electoral process.

Interesting interview with Dr. Sevilay Çelenk, dismissed peace academic and current parliamentary candidate from pro-Kurdish #YSP (Green Left Party). Pro-Kurdish candidates will take part in the upcoming elections from YSP lists in case the main pro-Kurdish party (Peoples' Democratic Party - #HDP) is banned by the Constitutional Court.
