Home again, hallelujah.
The rot set in 3 metres from the end of my driveway. Footpath blocked by matronly women having a natter. They were shocked to discover that these houses are inhabited, not just a backdrop for their witless existence.
Halfway to the shops, an idiot exited his driveway at speed and stopped, blocking the footpath while he went back inside for something. #YPLAC
Five metres from the shops, a car that had been indicating a turn into the carpark failed to turn and nearly ran me over instead. It was in the livery of the joint at the end of the road, the Royal Society for the Blind, not that I'm leaping to conclusions.
I generally abhor violence. Generally.

Who do you call about something like this... non emergency number? Going to leave it an hour and see if it vanishes. Has been left unlocked with a window wide open and hazards on. Odd!

I love e-scooters & believe they are an essential component in city mobility. They're cheap, take little space on the road & public transport (#multimodal!), need little space to park (except #yplac users 👆), are compatible with bicycle & #ebike infrastructure, …
Governments need to get a grip & legislate to encourage wide, responsible & safe use. Be like Berlin, not Paris nor Alicante.

I completely understand the sentiment and resentment against #escooters & rentals in particular.
Banning them doesn't seem like a good solution, though
Technology exists to disincentivise the #yplac behaviour. The rental companies don't see it as profitable to force any kind of good behaviour on customers.Germany (e.g. Berlin) seems to have sussed it with insurance, number plates, policing, homologation, helmets.

Look at this utter bastardly parking seen while out and about this morning. This shit is totally unacceptable, especially from a business. Wheelchair users or anyone else who can't negotiate that little bit of pavement they've deigned to leave us would be forced to go around on the road, into the oncoming traffic **which can't see them.** It makes me furious. 😡 #BadParking #YPLAC
