Caught an advert for McDonald's while I was having dinner. I think as an average we likely visit McDonald's about three times a decade and that's unlikely to change in the near future. However, I would just like to applaud whoever it was at the ad company they're using who decided to put Young MC's Know How as the backing music. Top work there, fellas.

On the east coast, KRS-One had launched the Stop the Violence campaign and put together an all-star roster of #HipHop artists to release the anti-violence track “Self Destruction” in response to violence at #rap concerts; now a group of #LA rappers calling themselves The West Coast Rap All-Stars responded to a societal problem around them in the same spirit. Crafted around a killer (reportedly #JamesBrown) funk riff, “We’re All In The Same Gang” weaves together enough samples to stand as a creation of its own. Corny? Maybe. Sincere? I’d like to think so - but it had an undeniable groove, and what a showcase of all the West Coast rappers this kid had heard of, and a few I hadn’t.
