I'm always sad when I'm reading through somebody's profile and they list five or six topics that I'm *really* interested in, but then they list "shitposting" and I realize this just isn't going to work out.

I like #snaps they work, and they get out of the way. #Flatpaks are fine as well, I install them if that is an option over an #apt install. But, #Flatpak does have its annoyances like when I open #Calibre, and it tells me there is an update but nothing in #Discover. Or, when there is a flat in Discover, but it does not update. Also, #Qbittorrent stopped launching, so switched that to snap. Just my experiences and preferences. #YouDoYou

Currently writing about the mess that was last night. The mess that IS our ongoing battle for Covid awareness and disability justice. What we can do (start with wearing a mask), how we grieve and unite to fight back.
I try not to write from a place of anger - but five years of being treated as expendable can make you angry. Five years of having people on both sides of the political spectrum toss you to the wayside, ignore your warnings and drop their makes (literally and figuratively)… it leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
So tonight I try and rest - and tomorrow the article comes out and we get back in the fight.

@johannes_lehmann I'll bite, I'm in #PublicHealth and one of these journals has PH in the title. I have years of experience in PH but I don't have years of experience in ALL aspects of PH. Sure, I can read your abstract and will read the manuscript but that doesn't give me your insight into the context and scope of your work. Give me a manuscript on #COPD and I know the PH context but #Asthma, much less knowledge there so I appreciate an honest and earnest cover letter.

I've tended to be pretty sneering about #ModifiedCar culture, especially when it involves gluing plastic bits onto mediorcre hatchbacks and adding a noisy airbox.
But I realised that I also put quite a lot of effort into making myself look willfully idiotic...

Yes. Yes, you should bring pants.
Just because a casket lid is usually closed on the foot end doesn’t mean you can’t see or that nosy people won’t poke around and look. Also, think about how embarrassing it’ll be for your loved one as they attend ghost parties with no bottoms. Shameful.
On that note, there are no requirement about what dead people have to wear in their caskets. You want to be dressed in a suit? Fine. Pajamas? That’s okay too. Superhero costume? You do you! All we ask is that it fits reasonably well (though we can improvise with a few alterations) and that it covers anything that needs covering (autopsy incision, trauma etc). When in doubt, go for something long sleeved and high necked. Make your wishes known to your family!
