When I saw Tune Tuesday's theme of "You Can't Touch This" about cover, I thought it meant that we were talking purely of bad covers! But, for me, bad covers are entirely forgettable so I couldn't think of anything.
But, it's not. It's about a cover that may be good, bad, whatever, but the original still hits and is still better.

I'm going with a song that, growing up in the 70s and 80s in a family that listened to country radio, I must've heard dozens of versions of. None of them, in my humble opinion, hold a candle to the original. Here's a particularly magical and self-deprecating recording ("I'll play a medley of my hit"):

To Make You Feel My Love is a gem from the master piece Time Out Of Mind, in a time when people deemed the master as good as dead.

Thought of one more. This Chicks cover was pretty good. The Smashing Pumpkins cover I was not really into. You just can't improve upon Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac in this case, IMO.
(I went with this version from The Dance as it's the one I know best)
