For anyone following this thread, if you use #GNOME and want the name of the app you’re currently in to be shown to you, you can use the Just Perfection GNOME extension (thank goodness for extensions) to do so.
It makes absolutely no sense to me that there is no way to look at your screen and know which app you’re in in GNOME. The ‘you are here’ landmark is so foundational that you’d fail Interaction Design 101 were you to forget it.

HCMC, Việt Nam was my home for 2 different stints of 3 years. When I arrived, only KFC/Pizza Huts were chains in the city. #Starbucks set up shop after I left the first time and I knew that I needed to add this to my #YouAreHere collection. I told my ex to bring this for me when he needed my help to expedite our divorce. These #Cyclos were still ubiquitous when I arrived in 2007. Now, there are only a few left. Many were ridden by men who had fought with the USA during the war.
