Many #Canadians I know have long considered certain #USAnians - such as those in #Minnesota, #Michigan Upper Peninsula, maybe #Wisconsin - to be unofficial "honorary Canadians". They share many things with Canada, from climate and geography to some aspects of culture, making them more like us than many other parts of the #USA.
There are some who are interested in making this arrangement official, with these parts of the USA becoming Canada's 11th province. I'm not sold on the idea at this point, but it's worth talking about.
I mention this because I would just like to let these potential future Canadians know that should this come to pass, their province will be named South Manitoba. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

Copperwood’s ore grade is only 1.5%, meaning that nearly 99% of mined material will be heavy-metal laden waste rock stored on-site. Toxins of concern include mercury, arsenic, selenium, and lead. The dam would be tilted toward Lake Superior, which represents 10% of the world’s surface freshwater.

The proposed mine would reroute Gypsy Creek and be permitted to dump half a million gallons of wastewater per day into Namebinag Creek; both creeks empty directly into Lake Superior.
