[1/3] Yolla Bolly! This time backpacking the area of Shell Mountain for three days, although the plan kept morphing.

The first day, we didn't get far. We didn't get to the trailhead for the downed trees and we didn't get to the planned camp for the fact the newly selected trail connecting to the planned trail didn't actually exist.

I feel like there was maybe more snow on it last year as we worked trail near North Yolla Bolly in May.

Plans kept changing as this short escapade developed, but it was ultimately for the better. Well, maybe not the first change. But everything else was for the better.

I stopped by the extreme northwest corner of Yolla Bolly, a #Wilderness I've never visited before, and hiked the trails there in a loop visiting their namesakes. Fire almost 3 years before has changed the area, but there are still flowers and butterflies and springs and rolling hills.
