With the #yerba I'm drinking I'm getting closer and closer to "just dried grass" flavour 😂 Just finished a package of Kraus, and just opened a package of Meta Mate, both dried with just hot air, without smoke as is usually done ("smoked" is a separate category, and for me leaves an aftertaste of smoked mackerel 😅)

I don't know if it's a #yerba #yerbamate thing, or a #caffeine thing, but if you haven't given it enough fuel to burn (I.e. "eaten something") the results are rather unpleasant.

Gestern kam neuer #Tee und außerdem zwei neue Kalebassen aus Keramik. Den #Mate habe ich bisher aus einer doppelwandigen Edelstahl #Kalebasse getrunken, mir dabei aber regelmäßig die Zunge verbrannt.
Die Keramik liegt besser in der Hand und der Tee ist schneller genießbar 🍵 -

Original: nutritional values are for 50g per 200ml of water (at least somewhat implying that's what you'll use). Fill container in 2/3-3/4, pour 1/4 of cold water, let it sit for 2 minutes, then pour 3/4 of 80°C water.
German sticker: use 12g for 1L of 90°C water. -
two nights of labour but the family #yuletide gifts are finally ready!
everyone we know drinks #tea and #coffee so we wanted to give something different, south american #yerbamate. 100% none of them tried it, so we bought a matecup and bombilla straw, bundled with 6 different infused taste profiles that we've split and bagged plus one bag of fancy #chocolates.
hopefully it's not so bad. we did try one and it was pretty mild, a bit of a reminiscent of #matcha.

I like #yerba. I've been debating for a while where to get one of the "traditional" "cups" for it, instead of doing various things with sieves or mugs. This is my experiment with something roughly the size and shape, while also possibly answering "what if I would want to take it with me somewhere" 😂
Yeah, it will be hard to hold when hot, but I don't like it hot anyway, so using "quite warm" water should cover both of those aspects.

A lot of new #yerbamate to try!
I already tried the one with #guarana and liked it (even if it doesn't last a lot...). Once I also tried Pajarito and liked a lot, but I was mixing it with Taragui because was very strong.
This one is Pajarito "suave", so maybe it keeps the same smokey taste with less strongness... Let's try!

I tried brewing yerba mate with my espresso machine using the tea profile that comes with gaggiuino and I don't think I ever had yerba this delicious before. A classic gourd doesn't come close at all.

After #brewing #yerba for a while mostly in french press, and previously in a mug, I figured I'll try to replicate the "authentic" experience, put a lot of it in a small cup (around/under 200ml, filled about half), and as per "some video" poured some hot water to be absorbed, then pouring hot water from a thermos and drinking soon after that.
News at 11, if you make it different it comes out different 🤣
Better? No idea, but at least for now the novelty amuses me :)

My search for "#yerba on the go" led me to exitence of "Yerbomos" - a container specifically designed for this, with somewhat interesting operation (see image descriptions). But most are mostly plastic... And then someone mentioned Mate Justo https://www.matejusto.com.ar/mate-justo/ which is nice and all steel, but doesn't exist outside of Argentina, apparently 😅

@tea I guess there's also https://kambukka.com/en-en/collections/accessories/products/tea-catcher-new which both should let me brew #yerba in the cup, and use the cup for other drinks if I felt like it. Though I do worry a bit that the holes in the strainer may be somewhat large for the dust in some yerbas 🤔

Any opinions on how to have #yerba on the go (most likely while #biking)? The two ways that mostly come up are:

Rad bych zde vypustil moje zkusenosti ze 14 dni mlsani yerba mate 2x denne:
1. Myslel jsem si, ze se mi dobre pracuje vecer. Ale kdyz si k tomu dam mate, tak mi prijde ze muj fokus se jeste trochu zuzi na praci, coz je super, mozna placebo, who knows, i don't care
2. Nemam nutkani pit alkohol vecer (ani v jine casti dne)
3. Vice se tesim na praci a veci okolo, predtim jsem se tesil jenom na programovani jako takove, ted se tesim az usednu k pohodli memu stolu, hodim nohy na deku a jsem happy -

Mir schmeckt Mate nicht schlecht, aber es schlägt mir auf den Magen. Deshalb werde ich als nächstes das eng verwandte #Guayusa probieren. I already tried the one with #guarana and liked it (even if it doesn't last a lot...). Once I also tried Pajarito and liked a lot, but I was mixing it with Taragui because was very strong.
