Some time ago I caught sight of a little maya bird 🐦 plucking a leaf off my little #calamansi 🍋‍🟩 plant and flying off with it. 'Twas cute. 😄

Well, today I discover that all* the leaves have been plucked off of it. The #birds left the 3 little fruits and and made a mess of the little pebbles. I guess that's the end of my 🍋‍🟩 plant. ☹️

I mean, what are the odds that any new leaf 🌿 will sprout? It hasn't made any new ones since I bought it last year.

Once again my #desertRose 🌹 blooms! 🥰 This is the most #flowers it's ever had -- 3 in full bloom, 1 about to unravel big time, and 1 little bud in the middle. Yes yes, it's still alive. 🫣 I think it's my longest living [surviving] plant. 😂!

Had a 🟣 flowering plant (the name escapes me at the moment) that died many months ago, and 2 small 🟠🔴 #celosias that died a couple of months ago.

Eventually the dried up remains got tossed out.
I left the pots out.
Because.
Lazy.

And now...
Behold!

I did nothing.
Nature gets all the credit.

Now imagine if I had tossed out the soil and pots too.

Apparently #procrastination has its virtues. 🤪

Wow. 😳 In less than an hour, the droopy #Celosia got all perky after watering. 😃👍

The orange one seems much* thirstier than the crimson one. It gets really* droopy. 🤷‍♀️ Been needing to water it every 2 days.

I find the difference in behavior strange since, except for the color of the flowers, they look like the exact same variety. To me, anyway. #clueless #YellowThumbs #plants #EducateMePlease #CityGardening #ApartmentLiving

Thanks. 🙂🙏 The #DesertRose is getting plenty of sun, from sunrise till around noon. I've only had it for 5 weeks. It grew a good deal of new leaves till the mealybugs showed up and the leaves started falling off. 🤷‍♀️ So far, no more yellowing/dropping leaves. 🤞

It's warm here most of the year. Cool #weather is rare. Strong winds and heavy rain (and my #YellowThumbs) are quite problematic, but not cold temperatures. 😃👍

The leaves were yellowing and falling off. I thought maybe I watered too much (every 10-12 days), but upon closer inspection... I don't know what that is, but I decided it doesn't belong there.

I got out my house remedy solution + an old toothbrush. There was something under the leaves too. Sprayed and brushed as much of it off as I could.

I hope the plant doesn't mind all the spraying and the soapy solution. 😶 @plants

I bought some fruit. 🤪

Got a different-looking apple. It's yellow and red. 🍎 Supposedly from #NewZealand. I hope it's good. I didn't find the kind that we normally buy. 🤷‍♀️

Happy to say that the bananas 🍌 I got are local. 😋 I wonder if the lemon 🍋 is too. 🤔❔ #MaybeNot

Also happy to see our government is putting a spotlight on #agriculture, giving assistance to #farmers. 🙏

Life is hard. Hopefully our farmers don't tire of their job. 😕 I can't grow my own #food.

I got #YellowThumbs and like edible mushrooms and the occasional salad greens. That's the extent of my #botany and #plants experience. 😅

I was considering the one where the pot had 2 parts. The bottom part for water with a wick to bring water to the top where the plant is. But that means transplanting to the new pot. I'm afraid I'll just end up hurting/killing the plant. #YellowThumbs

My #hydroponics attempt was a fail. No idea if I did it right. Instruction was: let water sit, mix in 5ml of Solution A, mix in 5ml of Solution B. Days later I see yellow powdery stuff in the bottom of my li'l hydroponic tub. Dunno if that's normal. I waited. Observed. So anyway, my lettuce didn't survive. 😁

I'm now trying a Rocket Arugula grow kit. I really prefer to not deal with soil, but maybe this'll work for my #YellowThumbs. 🤷‍♀️

I'll be away a couple of days. These little #lettuce #plants aren't going to get any spritzing 💦 while I'm gone. I hope they don't die. 😕 I do have them indoors right next to the window for plenty of sun.

My #pothos is pretty settled. It doesn't need me for another week, I think.

I've sorta given up on the #cereza. It's outside. Let the rain take care of it. It's not a baby plant anyway. 🤷‍♀️ #YellowThumbs

🥇 Pechay seedlings are doing very well.
🥈 Eton lettuce looks good too.
🥉 Not many sprouts from the Lollo Bionda.

Need to wait another 10 days before they're ready to be transferred to the #hydroponics thingy.

Yes, I'm finally doing something with the mini #hydroponics kit I bought months ago. It came with some seeds: 🌿 Lollo Bionda, 🌿 Eton Lettuce, 🌿 Pechay, 🌿 Kangkong

I didn't use the kangkong seeds. Too much seeds already, too little coco peat.

So the last couple of days it rained a bit. And i thought: Oh goody! The #cereza will be happy.

I keep forgetting to water it. 😁

This afternoon it was looking gloomy outside again, and i thought maybe i shouldn't leave my new supposedly-hard-to-kill #sansevieria #plant outside anymore. Brought it indoors. Only then did I see the tips have already gone brown. ☹️ I've only had it for a week.

The way my #plants are surviving I don't think I'll ever get a #dog. 🙄

Nah. I have* been searching for #plants for months. Just couldn't make up my mind.

Today felt like a good day for plant shopping and this hardworking guy deserved a sale.

I normally don't photograph strangers but he seems the photo-ready type and I wanted to remember who i got my plant from -- he kept saying he'll guarantee* and replace the plant if it died. If ever it dies, I won't claim that, of course. 🤓 #YellowThumbs #sansevieria #SnakePlant

Do you just pick the leaves and put them straight in hot water a-la-Turkish tea? I mean, no drying process. I imagine that's going to be very mild tea.

And do you think they'll be okay in a mini hydroponic setup? Or do they grow too large? Your setup there looks cute. Will they stay there or will you be moving them later?

I think I can only do hydroponics with my #YellowThumbs. 🙃

I'm thinking of giving my new #plant a mild mixture of epsom salt and baking soda in water. Just a pinch. No ammonia. It's some kind of home-made #fertilizer recipe.

Also thinking of using a tea* recipe -- egg shells and used tea bags in water -- to water my new plant.

I haven't gone crazy, okay? A plant #app (that failed to identify my plant) saw the yellow leaves and suggested that it needs nutrients. 🙃 We can blame the app later.
