Have to start wondering how much of the attacks on Chinese companies are really just a continuation of the 1899 to 1989 fears of the 'yellow peril.' As well as the fear of Nippon Steel proposing to buy US Steel - in this case, I have no doubt that if the buyer were European, there would be few qualms.
My guess is that most of the anti-China bias is racism, pure and simple.
