Waiting in the bike lane last night, I hear a very noisy SUV behind me. The driver is going down a single one way street the wrong way. As they get close, I see both of their front tires are completely flat. They honked at me and drove over the bike lane curb to get around a driver going the correct way who didn't get completely out of the street. They turned onto the main road and keep going. I'm guessing they were fleeing from something.

January's EV charging stats.

1361 km, $138.96

Biggest cost was DC fast charging between Edmonton and Calgary for the Fellowship of the Rings performances I sang in at the Southern Alberta Jubilee.

All said, I spent about $39 less driving the Ioniq 5 than I would have my old ICE car.

Finitely:
2016 Accord Coupe: $0.13/km
2022 Ioniq 5: $0.10/km

Note that these numbers are all on winter tires and the average temp of January was -7.9C, but the heavy driving was much colder.

Something going on with police all over the place on Jasper and 119 st. Jasper ave is closed at 119 st and all traffic being re-routed.

The main event seems to be on 119 st, south of Jasper about halfway down the block, though they just put up a tent over a car that is in the intersection of Jasper and 119.

Found out downtown Edmonton, you simply must have a smart phone and credit card to pay for parking. Had to drive to an old pillar to pay by credit card as the app had bad cert. #YEGtraffic

I don't know who needs to hear this but when there's a foot of snow you're not going to get to where you're going fast. I don't care if you have AWD/4WD.

These systems let you take off fast, but ultimately, we're all stuck with 4 tires braking at the same time. Slow the fuck down.

Flooring it at an intersection is doing no good. You're creating ice and making the intersection worse. Feather that throttle like it's your girlfriend.
