(And for those who question, or need to advocate, the legitimacy of photography as art, I will leave this with you to read at your leisure 👉🏼 https://birdsandbackroads.com/blog/the-art-vs-photography-debate-where-does-one-end-and-the-other-begin)
All set up and ready to go! You’ll find me at Ridgewood Community League tonight—doors open at 7!

It's today!!! 😄 Yes, you can RSVP at the door--tickets are pay-what-you-will. Stop by if you're in #YEG and you're into the #art scene 🎨 📷 See you there!
I'm going to be part of an upcoming #art show! The Public Display Agency is showcasing artists in Obsidian, “a curated art experience … that blends design, dialogue, and discovery. This one-night showcase unites visual artists, designers, and makers in an immersive, gallery-style setting.” The event is RSVP, and is pay-what-you-want, to keep it accessible for participants, while still supporting artists. Check it out!
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 14 - I try to stretch my neurons every now and then, setting down the camera and picking up a pencil or brush. My skill with drawing is definitely at the beginner level, but I feel it's important to do every now and then: aside from the technical aspects it helps me focus on--like texture, contrast, line, shape--it reminds me that my art doesn't always need to look like a photograph (that's what photography is for).
Doing some #HolidayShopping? Stop by Le Marché Bohème at Bonnie Doon until 5pm, and #SupportLocalArtists this holiday season!

Just a reminder, #ArtAdventCalendar starts tomorrow! 😃 Calling all artists of all media at all skill levels!
There is just one month until the Whyte Avenue Art Walk! It may be in its 30th year, but this will be my first time there as an artist! If you are in or passing through #Edmonton between July 11-13, it’s a must-see event!

I'm a decent green thumb, but #orchids are one of those flowers I'm much better at photographing than growing. Super excited for the Orchid Fair at the #EnjoyCentre in #StAlbert this wknd. This means new work coming soon! For now, here are some shots from previous yrs, two of which were awarded as part of the Orchid Society of Alberta's juried art show in 2023.

Look what came in the mail today! Seeing my work in print never gets old! (The velvety feel of the cardstock covers is also a nice touch--literally.)
And yes, these beauties are available for purchase! I'm still working on an online storefront, so for now, DM me for details on pricing and shipping 😊

Sometimes I play with #watercolour instead pixels. Not sure it's a traditional #IrishBlessing, but it's the blessing we need in 2025.
May my heart be kind,
My mind fierce,
and my spirit brave.
