I've been working on a modification of the #YearZeroEngine from #FreeLeaguePublishing to turn it into the engine for my own #TTRPG, which I've been developing over the past couple of years.

It's hard working with only the YZE SRD.

It would be nice if FLP published an actual book for their engine, like Chaosium does with the BRP.

Sadly, because R3DSHIF7 is a story- and character-drama-heavy game that uses D6 dice pools, the #Chaosium #BasicRoleplaying engine wouldn't really fit.

Ich habe am Wochenende mal wieder #Vaesen geleitet und es war wieder sehr schön. Ich mag dieses Spiel, wegen seinem einzigartigen Setting und Flair, und ich mag generell die #YearZeroEngine. Zu Weihnachten habe ich das #AlienRPG Starter Set geschenkt bekommen, aber was ich wirklich gern mal wieder spielen würde, wäre #Coriolis. #Dragonbane schaffe ich hoffentlich auch noch mal und irgendwann muss ich mal was mit #DieVerbotenenLande machen.

Ich spiele leider viel zu selten Year Zero Spiele.

I'm one session away from wrapping up a #TalesFromtheLoop "mystery" I've been running for my childhood friends for the past 6 months. (We play short sessions online very infrequently.) I made HEAVY modifications to the Recycled Boy, the adventure that ships with the Starter Set. Overall, it's been a great experience! The game runs on a stripped-down version of #FreeLeague's #yearzeroengine. It's simple, elegant and non-tactical. I've learned a lot in the process! Highly recommend. #ttrpg

So Westerns came up repeatedly when I asked last night which genres were underrepresented in the TTRPG space. Just a FYI, there's a traditional Western TTRPG Kickstarting right now. It's called Tales of the Old West and it's based on the Year Zero Engine.

Started tinkering yesterday and made some headway. I think there's some potential there. But I do need to think about how to include the various GURPS advantages / disadvantages, combine them with the career talents from Alien RPG, and figure out a way to use the stress mechanic in a way that fits the setting (and tone of the game).

But I already have some ideas on how that might be accomplished.

En cuanto a sistemas, lo más propuesto es la presencia de sistemas propios del juego en sí, en 54 partidas (38,85 %). Luego, por supuesto, tenemos #D20 (20 partidas) y #BRP / #D100 (13 partidas).
En cuarta posición y por detrás que otros años tenemos #PbtA (11). Pueden ser considerados 10 si el sistema de City of Myst se considera su propiacosa.
Seguido de #FitD (7), aunque si contásemos #RootedInTrophy y Candela Obscura como su propia cosa, FitD cae de posición a 2, junto con Trophy.
En quinta (o cuarta, según consideremos), estaría el #YearZeroEngine con 5 partidas, seguido por Trueque con 4 partidas .

Ratas en las Paredes y Broken Compass se han incluido como "Sistema propio", pero de considerarse sistemas podrían entrar fácilmente en liza. Ratas no contaría como PbtA, ese error de otros años se ha corregido.

In my quest for the best rules (for me) to use when #GMing a #ttrpg in #TheExpanse universe. Got selection down to either #BasicRoleplaying #BRP or #YearZeroEngine #YZE.

And the choice is...

*Drumroll*

I will base it on #AlienRPG, since talents and skills are best match for Expanse and require least amount of tweaks to be useable.

I'm also fond of #lifepath character generation, so I have created a draft of a flowchart. Now I need to start to assign actual values to the chart and do some beta testing 😎

I wonder if I'll ever will be ready to play 🤣

I don't think this is expressly called out in the #YearZeroEngine rules, but in #Vaesen when I have players aid each other and offer up a die to the challenge, I have each helper roll their own die instead of just offering up their dice to be rolled by the spotlight character.

I think it fosters more investment from the group and it's worked out really well so far.

So kompliziert es anfangs wirkt, finde ich die Würfelpoolmechanik von #YearZeroEngine von #MutantYearZero und #DieverbotenenLande sehr genial, Attribute sind die Lebenspunkte und auch die Anzahl der noch verfügbaren Würfel, für Ausrüstung die Haltbarkeit und die Anzahl der Würfel darstellen. Das greift sehr gut ineinander von der Mechanik.
Ansonsten #Agon, erst würfeln und dann erzählen gefällt mir als Konzept auch sehr gut #pnpde

I was even thinking of building my own RPG system, starting with #YearZeroEngine that powers #Vaesen, Alien and Blade Runner RPGs. And then, someone mentioned that #TinyCthulhu was on sale on DrivethruRPG.

I never heard of TinyD6 system before, but I was immediately delighted. In TinyD6, you use the d6 dice, and have to roll either 5 or 6 for a success. If you have an advantage, you roll three d6. If you have a disadvantage, roll one d6. That's pretty much it.

it feels like it should be easy to auto memoize stuff like this where there’s a known low cardinality
