following last year's method (https://mastodon.art/@Hexephre/111608560396921120) and doing "12 pieces from 2024" rather than "one piece per month". this may not be in strict chronological order, i honestly don't know.

i did a lot of art this year, especially in the first half, but it doesn't show as clearly in a summary like this because most of it was comics! also the top right square looks real piddly but it was part of a full 3 min 45 sec animatic. i really leaned into big projects this year.

i didn't draw every month this year. i didn't do as much art as i do most years. but i still did plenty of art, and plenty of other things.

in some ways, a monthless YIA lets me display what mattered the most to me this year. i did a lot of stuff i really like, things that mean a lot to me, things i'm proud of, things that i look at and smile about. even things i don't love looking at but i'm still glad i did them.

I spent most of 2022 recovering from shoulder surgery to repair torn tendons in my arm and shoulder, so I'm excited to have even been able to finish at least one thing a month this year!

my year in art, 2018! hm. I only did like three paintings all year, I was really focused on illustrations. October was good, I really got into ink drawing. my style as a whole hasn't changed much over the year, has it?
