  1. I had high expectations of #Yatagarasu and yet it exceeded them all. I never had the opportunity to describe this about an #anime, but the first "arc"/half was full of (super intriguing, not stressful) DRAMA - which I totally didn't expect. I almost feel like it's completely safe/valid to recommend the first ~13 episodes to drama lovers that weren't particularly into/familiar with anime.

Subsequent episodes then continued to expand the lore, world building of the anime and I just couldn't stop simping for the whole idea/lore of the world - last I had this
reaction was for #AttackOnTitan, specifically in the very early seasons when Titans and Paradis were more interesting/relevant in the story.

The main character also absolutely passed my
vibe check, in flying colours particularly bcos of how unique I found his character is compared to any other MCs (for me). Excellent choice of cast too in the seiyu department, particularly the MC, Prince, and his brother - it's also really nice to recognise Kaine's (from #NierReplicant) voice as the Empress, though it's sad to know that if the anime continues, this voice will almost definitely be changed seeing that Tanaka Atsuko has passed :(

I could go on and on about this anime, and it's probably way too early to call it (at least, one of) my absolute fav after just 20 episodes, but it's so tempting bcos it's
    THAT good.

  2. I'm glad I decided to start #SoloLevelling first and leave #Yatagarasu for last in my watchlist, cos... I've no idea how SL had so much hype when it first came out.

Season 1 has just been seeing this main character lose his entire personality for jack shit and watch him stroke his dick, hard, non-stop for the entire season, again, for seemingly nothing - it almost feels like, maybe, this is supposed to be
arousing/more hype if I was maybe 10 years younger.

All in all, even my wife thinks
    #SAO was a lot more entertaining/interesting than SL and I'm certain that's far from a compliment lol 💀 It's cool that it's the first #anime we've watched that originated from a #Manhwa I suppose.

  3. It is said that Emperor Jimmu was guided from Kumano to (what would become) Yamato by a divine, 3-legged bird.

The 'Yatagarasu' (八咫烏) was believed to be an incarnation of Kamo Taketsunumi (賀茂建角身命), one of the principal gods later enshrined at Shimogamo-jinja (下鴨神社).

  4. Yatagarasu was another excellent show this past season, lots of intrigue, suspense, world building, and mysteries to untangle. Highly recommend giving it a watch! #Yatagarasu #Anime

  5. Hey, rice plants in another anime this season.

Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master is a great underappreciated mystery/action show, and it's finally back after a short break.

  6. Long time ago I followed an artist on tumblr who shared their wonderful watercolour illustrations. Always enjoyed their work. But unfortunately they stopped posting anything about 2 years ago. Pity but I guess things happen...
Recently I started watching ongoing anime Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai (Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master). And after the ending of each episode there's a beautiful end card with one of the characters. I genuinely enjoyed the drawing style, admired the feel and elegance of the work and only now found out: it's THAT very artist from tumblr! 名司生(なつき)。Fantastic.
    I swear I'm not a stalker, it's just a wonderful coincidence :meowlove:

  7. I'm a little late to the party, but #Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master, is my plot-twist heavy anime of the season, and it's not even finished yet.

It's kinda like #ApothecaryDiaries but with a really annoying secretive prince solving an interlocking mystery.

  8. Today I ventured into my 38th #aikido dojo, #Yatagarasu. For their 10th anniversary seminar. I plan to start writing about this.

    Where next?
