    Yarra City Council Mayor Stephen Jolly is a tool of the motoring lobby. His decision to make critical cycling infrastructure worse will have a severe impact on safety and amenity, as well as the environment. He can claim he's making a compromise as though he's doing the right thing, but we all know he's a knob who won't stand-up to fight RWNJs.

    "Join us to learn about urban agriculture activities in and around Fitzroy. Meet the instigators, teachers and growers of the community and how the different sites and organisations work. You will hear about the challenges of growing and composting in the public, supporting children to eat well and teaching members of our community about growing food in Melbourne.

    "We will visit Fitzroy Learning Network, Condell Growers and Sharers and Cubbies Adventure playground.

    "Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc to swap and share!

    "Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.

    "If you have any access or support questions or requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you. Photos will be taken at this event, but there is an option to opt out on the day.

    "This My Smart Garden event is proudly presented by Yarra City Council on the land of Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin nation.   4. I spent yesterday evening watching the flying foxes at Yarra Bend as the sun set. They're among the largest members of the bat family and are super active at this spot along the Yarra River.

    They occasionally skim the top of the river, mid flight, to cool down and get little drinks of water, then hang upside down in the gum trees along the riverbank. An incredible sight.

    This always was and always will be Wurundjeri country. :firstnations:
