After several days of diving into the “5fret” gaming universe I can say the following:
Crkd Pro Guitar while well built is a handful to get working right with almost any game. And when it’s “working” I’d argue it’s still really not. Ie Fortnite festival.
YARG while relatively stable just feels very basic. Songs are very sporadic in quality and it feels nothing like the older games in terms of fit and finish. Despite everyone saying how much more modern and good these types of games are ..
Guitar Hero World Tour PC works and is pretty feature full but it’s unstable as all hell.
Expect a lot of time with trail and error and downloading things to use: songs, emulators, mods ect ..
And if you get everything going and working, still your loved ones will look at you funny as you try to get everyone to gather around your computer to play. All and all I feel like for most people it won’t be worth the trouble not until a new successful mainstream modern game is released.

It's almost done!!
The battery on my dremel-like tool died so I can't finish smoothing out the edges, but I did a test fit on the broken controller I bought to use for parts and I love it! It's such a small thing, but when I put this on my main controller and replace the neck, the main controller is going to look like a plastic replica of my main guitar. Even seeing this parts-controller has me grinning ear to ear!#DIY #GuitarHero #RockBand #YARG #CloneHero #RhythmGames #RhythmGaming

Life took some turns so progress has been slow while life events took priority, but I'm finally back at this project! So far I've verified my dremel-like tool can cut through the pickguard material, but it's kind of slow. To make things easier on myself, I got out my cordless drill and used its largest bit to drill a bunch of holes along the pickguard's outline. This is going to be so cool when it's done!

Fixed automounting a network share (via SMB) on my Bazzite install by noticing I was using a mix of capital and lowercase letters for the same folder, once I made it all the same it's working! And hey, YARG has zero issues running with a song library hosted off of my NAS!
Next up is importing songs from the RB3DX setup I had on my 360, but it's almost 6 AM and I should probably get some sleep at some point...

Whether I get this working and move the HTPC to the basement or not, I did have a thought: I should make a folder on my NAS for my YARG song collection, then point the game to that share. That way I can add to it from another PC instead of having to use a mouse and keyboard on my living room floor.
I'm taking a break to calm down right now, but this might be a good idea in the future..

Had a weird audio issue with YARG on Bazzite, one where the sound would randomly cut out for a second every few minutes, but it's fixed!!
From searching, the first step was to increase audio buffer in-game. I played with this and it helped a little, but in the end I left it at 300. [1/2]

It snowed today, so I skipped out on going to a cover band playing in town. Instead I got YARG set up on my HTPC running Bazzite and confirmed the game can load new custom songs. I also fumbled through configuring my guitar controller and confirmed it works. Currently I'm downloading a copy of my Rock Band 3 DLC to this PC, then I'm going to scan the songs in and have fun!

Ich hab eben neben #YARG auch mal #CloneHero ausprobiert.
Mit "Crumbling Castle" von King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard anzufangen war eine ....Entscheidung.
Das war so viel schneller als die einfachen Songs in YARG, aber hat mich auch richtig gut fühlen lassen.

Der Gitarren-Controller war eine sehr gute Idee. Gestern im Stream ausprobiert und mein Kopf ist noch vollkommen überfordert von der Anordnung der Knöpfe, da ich das auf dem Bildschirm nicht direkt auf das Gefühl meiner Hände übertragen kann.
Aber ich hab echt massiv spaß daran. Durch #YARG und #CloneHero steige ich endlich mal in diese Art Rhythm-Game ein und bin echt froh, dass die einfachen Schwierigkeitsgrade auch wirklich Einsteigerfreundlich sind.

Hat hier jemand Erfahrung mit #YARG oder #CloneHero und wie Einsteigerfreundlich die Projekte sind? Ich hatte damals keinen Kontakt mit Rockband/Guitar Hero, aber hab Bock drauf und mag Rhythmus Spiele
