Cut Off at the Throat got bumped back up to No.17 in Teen & YA Sci-Fi Mystery ebooks yesterday, and was still No.1 in 'Hot New Releases', whatever that means. As I've found out before, being listed as a 'bestseller' on Amazon comes with all sorts of caveats.

Cut Off at the Throat has slid back down the rankings, but is still somehow No. 3 in Hot New Releases in Teen & YA Sci-Fi Mystery ebooks. This suggests one of two things:
1. I'm getting old and out of touch and have no idea what makes something hot (I'm still not buying any advertising).
2. Amazon's algorithm works in VERY MYSTERIOUS WAYS.

Again, I'm not sure how these rankings work, though I know they change by the hour, but being placed in new releases in Teen and YA Dystopian among various #HungerGames editions, even for a while, is worth screenshotting.

I don't know what the criteria are for this (I haven't bought any ads)!
The way Amazon works remains very mysterious!
The No.2 is not the ranking in either of these genres (it's at Nos.14 and 27), so presumably Hot New Release is a category within a category within a category, but what's important is that it's HOT!
