Microsoft ported "Colossal Cave" to the TRS-80 under the title, "Microsoft Adventure"... with some unique differences.
Then we did an Apple II port & an IBM PC port that was OEM'd by IBM & I had copies of every port. At the age of 11, I even had a legit copy of the TRS-80 & IBM PC versions! (I owned a 5150)
Spent so many hours playing that game. Should've known I'd go to work for them one day. 😜

I make a small adjustment to support Inform 7’s test suite… which leads me to write a new walkthrough for Adventure (yes, the original one)… and that leads to some bugs… which leads to some game design questions.

@FlashMobOfOne OMG 'Pirates' & 'Zork'... those were so good. May have to rethink my list! #xyzzy
My classmates at UCLA did some of the ports for 'Battle Chess' while undergrads. Commodore 64 & a few others! I played that game & 'Power Chess' so much...
(BTW, If my company acquires the IP, I've requested that we make 'Zork' & all Infocom titles available for free for all platforms. 😁)

I'm reading a rather excellent novel (Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin), which is about two nerdy game devs, and you can't imagine how chuffed I felt when this came up and I knew what they were referring to and had played it right to the end in the early 80s.

So my game "The Last Night of Alexisgrad" just won the #XYZZY award (the Oscars but for #InteractiveFiction) for "Best Use of Innovation" (tied with a couple of other amazing games).
