@zaclys je suis partagé. D'un côté je comprends, après avoir lu une partie des fils de discussion, votre décision de fermeture. De l'autre, en pleine #xmigration je trouve votre choix regrettable. Ceux qui ont choisi votre instance pour tester #mastodon pourraient être refroidis. Certes la migration n'est pas extrêmement difficile, mais pour les habitués des #Gafam c'est pas easy.
On aurait également pu croire que cela est dû à cette arrivée massive de new mastonautes, mais même pas. Dommage

It has been written in 2022. Since the article has been written, may be things have evolved, or not, I don't know.

I'm still using #X11 and I fundamentally have nothing against Wayland.
I continue to use X11 for basics reasons:

1. It works perfectly with my NVidia GC, my drawing tablet and let me manage monitor calibration profiles
2. Last time I tried Wayland, then I had too much weird things (artifacts on screen, weird mouse cursors, ...) - it seems related to my NVidia drivers but I didn't dig more, I've just switched to a solution that works for me (then, X11)

Note, the day my desktop environment will work properly on Wayland (so including my NVidia drivers, my drawing tablet, all application I use, color profiles, ...) I'll happily switch to Wayland.

Unfortunately, if what I read in this article is still valid, I probably won't be able to switch in 2024, neither in 2025 :ablobcatknitsweats:

Je lis tous ces débats sur le deuil et le départ de X. Franchement en Fr ça serait Bolloré ça ferait pas tant tergiverser. Sauf que c’est Bolloré. Pareil. Pire.

I just realized that I've had my 2nd #Mastodon birthday only a couple of days ago. Two years ago, like many others at the time, I fled from Elmo's escapades on and around Twitter. Similar things seem to be happening again due to the outcome of the elections in the US ... #TwitterMigration and #XMigration.

So maybe it's time to take a step back and recap how it all went for me in those last 2 years.

Shows both new and returning users rate per month in the top Mastodon servers. Both numbers. This flow feels akin to what I see on many other social platforms, and appears like a healthy pattern to my analysis.
