Semantic headers are a pretty cool thing! They are pretty useful when you need to compare multiple files that “aren’t exactly the same” but where you keep procrastinating clean-up because there are too many of them. I was looking for a way to standardize multiple files with a single click, and this seems a good first step in the right direction.

Предыстория: я фрилансер, основные деньги получаю, делая инструменты для редактирования xlsx файлов. Когда работы с Excel много, часто скапливаются задачи, что можно автоматизировать, но они делаются вручную. Я и пишу программы, что получают xlsx файл и обрабатывают данные с листов в удобный вид. Всё быстро, просто, понятно (одну кнопку нажать) и удобно.

📈 In my master course, we discussed simple data analysis! Students worked on their projects using #rstats. They imported #XLSX files via #rio with multiple columns to make scatterplots. Most used #dplyer and other packages like #ggplot2 because #ChatGPT said so! Tasks that would require just a little code (matplot(mydata)) now are many lines long when students have the "right" tools 😖 at their disposal!

I am really impressed by Onlyoffice. While otherwise living in #emacs, every once in a while I still need to edit .docx and .xlsx files. Onlyoffice has a modern look similar to the MS original, is fast, free, and has all the functionality I need, including a good pdf reader (bye, Adobe!). The best part is that all file types can be handled in one app with browser-like tabs to switch between files. MS Office thinks it is so important that it has an item in the Alt+Tab queue for every single file. #office #foss #docx #xlsx #pdf #msoffice #onlyoffice
