After crossing the Atlantic Ocean, balloon mission 739N transporting the XL-CALIBUR experiment is flying above Greenland.
The NASA balloon was launched from ESRANGE in Sweden, on July 9 and so far has been aloft for 2 days and a half flying at a mean altitude of 123.000 ft.

In the same time frame, the other balloon in flight (the XL-CALIBUR mission) also experienced a loss of altitude but it was half of the loss experienced by SUNRISE III.
We must consider too that XL-CALIBUR is flying at higher latitude and a little higher altitude (due to balloon size) and could be less affected by the cooling effect of lower-angle solar radiation.

Good news. The payload has been moved to the launch pad, and helium trailers and balloon hardware are being positioned.
