For the first day of #DecRecs I'm reccing the Modao Zushi fic "a late spring frost" by Tavina, which was a gift I received in the '22-'23 round of the Five Figure Fanwork Exchange! It's a gen fic with background/past Xiyao, just over 10k words, focusing on Lan Xichen's post-canon relationship with his family.

Post-canon Xiyao grief is one of my all-time favorite topics in MDZS fic, and this fic is one of the best I've read in that category. It weaves scenes from Lan Xichen's past in with scenes from his present and reflects on Lan sect philosophy and morals, resulting in a beautifully painful and real-feeling story about the jaggedness of grieving when the world is still turning for the people around you. Lan Qiren gets some wonderful backstory and character study, too. I think the comment I left on this fic is the longest I've ever left on any of my exchange gifts, and for good reason. 💙

Huzzah! I have finished recording and editing my podfic of Last of our Kind, by Shiome

I've also gathered all the links into Chapter One, so you only need to have one Ao3 page open on your device to get access to the links for every chapter. (IDK, it's a feature I've appreciated when other podficcers do it.)

This has taken over 14 weeks because there was time off over Christmas, but I'm very proud of it. I even did the voices :)
