  1. #Unix #copyright code infringement #lawsuit is back from the dead — #IBM still under fire from #Xinuos over 2003-era bytes
Xinuos (formerly #SCO) has repeatedly and dramatically taken IBM to court, claiming the defendant misused SCO-owned #sourcecode from the collaborative effort in its AIX and z/OS products, as well as Linux. Many battles have been fought over who owns the "Unix" name, what code IBM put in Linux, and even FreeBSD.

  2. Xinuos hat den Geist der SCO-Klage gegen IBM wiederbelebt. Ein Gericht auf den US Virgin Islands wäre zwar zuständig, schickt den Fall aber nach New York.

  3. Xinuos is the company that purchased the remnants of the SCO Group in 2011. The SCO Group, in turn, is a company most famous not for its actual products but for its litigation against IBM and Linux. That litigation began in 2003—partially funded by a very different M$, only 5 years after the leak of the Halloween documents in which M$ acknowledged the "long-term viability" of OSS and discussed strategies to choke it out of the market. 4. Back in university, my introduction to OS programming was using a nice dummy OS that had the name #XINU (Xinu Is Not Unix, and also UNIX backwards. The best recursive acronym I have come to see so far).

However it seems that Caldera^WSCO^WTSG Group spun off a new company to deal with business as opposed to litigation. And that company is named: #XinuOS
