I have designed another 3D printed quality of life improvement for my Xiegu G90. This time, it's a set of legs that elevate the front of the radio for a better viewing angle.
I do actually use the radio to do radio things, but those activities don't seem interesting enough to share. 🤣
You can read about it on my blog: https://tdot.fish/2026/05/20/g90-stand
Or check it out on printables: https://www.printables.com/model/1729476-xiegu-g90-clip-on-high-angle-stand-system

In my latest blog post I discuss my temporary solution for storing and transporting my #HamRadio station and a 3D printed cover that I designed to protect the front panel.
https://tdot.fish/2026/03/22/g90-cover
Or download the files directly from Printables: https://www.printables.com/model/1645636-xiegu-g90-face-cover-no-front-loops
I have added alt text to the images in this post and will begin making my way through older posts and adding alt text to those images as well.

Hi #HamRadio friends! Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my posts last week.
I came up with a design for a clip-on mic hangar for the #xiegu G90.
Check out my blog for more details: https://tdot.fish/2026/02/08/g90-mic-hook
Or grab the STL and print your very own on from Printables: https://www.printables.com/model/1591939-xiegu-g90-clip-on-mic-hook
Milder weather is coming to my area this week so hopefully I can get back on the air soon ... good thing because I'm out of 3D print ideas for the moment.

#hamradio inspired me to get back into 3D printing ... I designed and 3D printed a clip-on speaker redirector for my #xiegu G90.

HI #hamradio friends.
I could not find a clear explanation on how to work the filter on my #xiegu #G90 with the current (v.1.80+ firmware), so I put one together for the community.
It can be found on my blog for those who prefer a read: https://tdot.fish/2026/01/16/g90-filter
Or as a video, with captions, on YT: https://youtu.be/xGhJ5ZyVq1s

Graphical summary of my participation as EE5E in the ARRL CW DX contest. Ninety-one contacts on 10, 15 and 20 m, most in the east coast of North America and Great Lakes area. I was using a 5-metre vertical wire with a 49:1 and #5W of power, with a BaMaKey paddle attached to my #XieguG90 (20 WPM). Used Not1MM+Flrig for logging and CAT. Sat for about 14 hours in total.
P.S. The shortest valid ham call sign in the world is not EE5E, as I thought, but rather I5E if it were ever issued.

Just finished another Parks on the Air activation with 27 valid POTA contacts in the log! Field report will be at https://kf0mcx.com soon!

"Fix Your Radio Hour" a success, except I forgot to take a photo of my operating position at Burns Park in Ann Arbor under the shelter. (Very civilized, with a picnic table to set up on, and a handy nail to hang my 2 meter roll-up J-pole antenna.)
I have borrowed a #XieguG90 to use as a portable HF station, and I have an offer to borrow an end-fed random wire antenna. This would be the park to operate all that from. The #G90 is in a very nice go kit.

Thank you all for your recommendations on gear for POTA and SOTA. As much of a Yaesu fanboy as I am, I decided to go with the Xiegu G90. Just ordered it and how could I pass up the price tag of $399 for the radio and extras? It makes more sense since I’ll be away with this radio anyway since I live in a townhome. I will definitely get a more traditional base HF right when we move eventually. Now…any recommendations for antennas? #POTA #SOTA #hamradio #XieguG90

Beeing very glad about today's QSO on 10m. Contact #1 two days ago went to Saudi Arabia, today's #2 to Namibia, Windhoek with a solid 55! That's 7794 km/4842.967072 mi. Thank you Mike/V51MA!
The T2LT antenna works exceptionally fine. The SWR is nothing but a dream. I heard again Chile and even a station from the USA. Maybe next time they'll receive me too...?

My #ADK #POTA trip to Limekiln Lake was a success.
180+ QSOs & 3 activations - all on solar power in a forest with too much shade AND most of my time on the #lateshift.
I managed to work stations on 10, 20, 40, and 80 meters. I was successful on FT4 , FT8, and SSB. While I tried #RTTY, I never got a call back. I'll keep trying, however.
All this was done with a #XieguG90 and an 80m #EFHW up 15-20ft.

KB2DSR here. I'm an Amateur Extra in Troy, NY. I got my Novice ticket in 1986 or 87 (I think).
I enjoy #POTA, where I use a #XieguG90 and a solar system for power. I'm just getting into playing with #DMR and I'm Net Control for the TARA Social Net on the N2TY repeaters.
My main HF rig is a Yeasu FT-450D and my shack computer is a Raspberry Pi4.
I also, hunt, fish, lift weights, and grow a garden.
