The #TotalSynthesis of highly condensed polycyclic terpenoids has been a hot topic in #Chemistry recently. Yandong Zhang (#Xiamen University, #China) and co-workers now were able to synthesize such complex terpenes by epoxide-ene cyclization, oxygenation, and subsequent skeletal rearrangement.
