So what's all this #NightGod business? Well, I did promise to talk about the lens I used for these shots.
I recently bought a #BrightinStar 35mm f/0.95 manual focus lens for my #Fujifilm #XH2 #photography.
And the advertising moniker for these lenses is that it's a "Night God" lens, thanks to that large f/0.95 aperture.

It wasn't all lit window displays in #trallwn #Pontypridd #Wales last night. Most of the #halloween displays weren't lit when I went out with the camera.

It's #WorldPhotographyDay2024.
This is my favourite (so far) from all the photos I've taken this year.

Looking at RAW photos from both bodies in LrC, there isn't a huge difference in noise between both sensors.
But the image from the #XH2 does not survive LrC Denoise at 50% very well.
These were difficult - downright unreasonable, really - conditions.
I do think, though, that the #XH2 is unusable at ISO 12800.

I took my #Fujifilm #XH2 (and a borrowed #XH2S) to #Avebury last night, hoping to #photograph the iconic #StandingStones by moonlight.
It ... did not go well.

Here's another photo of one of the 20 iron sentinels of the Combe Down Tunnel just south of #Bath.
Here, I was able to catch the ghostly outline of the refuge alcove too, illuminated by the pulsing glow of the sentinel as it bops along to the music.
The longer exposure time has also caught a hint of what the inner disk of the sentinel looks like too.

I've been driving past this #sculpture on the #A470 just north of #Llanidloes for years ... and finally I took the opportunity to stop and photography it.
It's a tricky bugger to photograph: it faces north, and is predominantly backlit. I'm going to have to do some proper planning for when I go back and do it justice!

This one is called "Donuts and Coffee By The Abbey".
My eye was drawn to the contrasting elements in this shot: the sharpness of the sign versus the softness of #BathAbbey behind; the brilliant white versus the deep orange glow.
