One of the things that fascinate me most with EgoSoft is that they to this date roll with a self hosted forum in 2026 not giving a shit on what everyone else does.

Had a nice little #X4Foundations stream using my mining from scratch custom start. Made my first million cred (from crystals, mostly), and bought a Bolo mining ship. It flies better than I expected!

Spent a bunch of time in #X4Foundations this afternoon. Decided to have a go at mining, and setup a Creative / Sandbox custom start. Basic small mining (solids) ship, knowledge of the solar system, and zero rep. Working out from the Saturn 2, with a goal of getting the 20 Rep needed to get back home to earth. So far, crystals are the real high-profit item. Currently grinding for the credits needed for a larger ship.

Per the advice of @bekopharm, I tried jumping into X4 with little to no guidance, thinking that I would look up stuff from Captain Collins (suggested by @BenKramer) only when necessary.
So far the experience has been great! And the ability to jump into specific in-game tutorials as I desire/when needed) is an amazing feature π€©
I'll be playing this game more, for sure!
