#Xteink is currently working on blocking firmware flashing on the #X4. What a smart move. Maybe the best option to kill your success.

The hardware is amazing, but they’ve put almost no effort into making the software even decent. The community really stepped up to fill that gap, and honestly, that’s been a huge part of the company’s success.
Things are still a bit unclear as it sounds like overseas products might not be affected, but either way, this feels like a dumb move.

Ich sitze mit dem #X4 im Zug und erfreue mich sehr daran.
Er ist gefühlt fixer als mein #Pocketbook Era. Dafür lässt sich aber auch weniger einstellen, die Schrift ist mir noch eine Spur zu groß.
Das Display ist genial und wird (natürlich) besser je heller es ist. Die Häppchen zu lesen machen es super einfach, Seite um Seite zu lesen.
Akku wurde geladen, der Stand wird mit 89% angegeben.

Did I mention the X4 lately? ^^
I recently concluded that Crosspoint could benefit from a few more customizations and more font size options offered in Papyrix. It turns out that Inx might be the firmware to fill the gap. It also displays your current reading time, along with the number of pages and chapters—quite a nice feature!

Still in pre-release, so very promising. I just didn't see an option to prevent the display fading effect when the X4 is exposed to U.V. It could be activated by default or not implemented.

Just came across a less-known X4 firmware: cpr-vcodex
It'll definitely attract people who are into the stats hype as it includes detailed reading analytics (and other improvements to Crosspoint).

So, I got back to X4. And just mid stream, the game paused itself with no actual way of un-pausing it.

Uuuuh. Ok?

As much as I'd love to go back to that game regularly, it's as @doubleaa said: the most difficult thing in this game is the control scheme.

I'll give it another spin, but at the next shenanigan it will be put in the bin.

Auch mit dem Rabbithole #X4Foundations ging es gestern weiter. Seit dem Start im Oktober habe ich jetzt über 200 Stunden im X Universum verbracht und gefühlt bislang nur an der Oberfläche gekratzt.

Ein großer Meilenstein war gestern der Aufbau der - von mir liebevoll 💖 genannten - Verteidigungsstation "Deathstar" vor dem Tor zu den Xenon Sektoren in Hatikvahs Entscheidung I. Das Bild zeigt die noch unvollendete Station.

I was always wondering that it would perfect if games like #x4 would offer API access so that you can connect external tools to it. With that you could build a complete station manager or whatever outside of the game and connect it. Would be nerd level 6000 but also super fun!

I've been pondering reinstalling X4 to see how it feels now that I've got a proper HOTAS and head-tracking setup. Just not looking forward to refamiliarizing myself on the controls and interfaces.

I'm also uninstalling X4, because...it's a great game and brimming with life. Too much life.

My choice about space sandbox is and will ever be Elite Dangerous, mostly because most of the dame it's just you and your ship, alone, in the middle of effin' nowhere.

X4 feels too inhabitated.

I set a whole bunch of my Ships to automine. It does work, they haul in the cash. But the skill of the autominer does never go up, not even after hours and hours.

I distinctly remember it levels up after a while. But It was some (cough) years since my last play-though.

So,

yesterday was my first #X4 Session. I lied. It was like the 4th or so. 1st session was to install base game, expansions and patches in #linux. The following sessions were to configure my #hotas with tons of mappings.

Yesterday. I flew around a bit (while constantly changing the bindings) but it was fun.

But I need #money MONEY!!

I just started a new game of X4. As is tradition, the first session was installing the base game and all the expansions. The second session was binding the X-56 HOTAS to X4 - half way. I predict another 1-2 sessions before I can start flying.

Last time I got the idea of putting the configuration in git. But the same time is needed: Either for setting or remembering all the keys.
