After updating my home server to 7.9, #openbsd obviously, I still need to update my #postgresql to v18. Then I will reshuffle the laptops: #alpinelinux will go onto the #x240, #openbsd will go onto the #x270, and whenever #netbsd11 will be there, it will go onto my new favorite, the #t490s.
When will #netbsd11 be there?

I just confirmed that an internal battery from a ThinkPad X240 will fit in a ThinkPad T450, if you flip it upside down.
In an X240, the print with the Lenovo logo and battery information is up and you can see it. When putting the same battery in a T450, you can't see that info (just the black underside of the battery, as shown in picture).
The battery works and shows up in a battery test.

I listening to this using @FreeTube while doing a thermal cleaning and re-application of thermal paste on a ThinkPad X240 laptop.
Later on, I will attempt to upgrade the laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using a Windows installer created with Rufus that removes the hardware check.
Microsoft does not officially support this laptop for Windows 11... but it should work okay. I've successfully upgraded older ThinkPad laptops to Windows 11 with few problems.

Just noticed that my #Thinkpad #X240 / #X250 #Debian Sid (aka #DebianUnstable) installation had its 10th anniversary in April this year via https://packages.debian.org/unstable/installation-birthday
The installation is older than the X250 as I initially bought an X240: It finally had a usable resolution compared to the X230—but the awkward touchpad without hardware buttons for the thumbstick. So the next year I bought an X250 and moved over the installation. And my father got an X240 for his birthday. 😇

@minino kauf dir vielleicht ein gebrauchtes #Thinkpad der X oder T Reihe (nicht die anderen Reihen). Wie gut Minecraft darauf laeuft weiss ich nicht, eher etwas niedrigere Einstellungen, weil Minecraft doch ein bisschen was braucht an Power.
Auf ebay kannste Thinkpads kaufen, denke #X240, #X250, #X260 oder #T440, #T450, #T460 sind gerade die Modelle, die vom Preisleistungsverhaeltnis am besten sind. Wenn du guenstig #X270 oder #T470 bekommst ist natuerlich auch gut.Vor allem sind diese Modellreihen zu empfehlen, weil sie historisch gute Qualitaet hatten (wie das jetzt bei den neueren Modellen ist wird noch drueber diskutiert, hat aber nachgelassen) aber vor allem, weil auf ebay immer groessere Mengen verkauft werden, die von Businesskunden kommen und nach wenigen Jahren ersetzt werden.
