[P] So, the wyvern—as imagined—couldn't exist. So how is it more real?
"Uhhh... buh, wait! Fantasy have magicks! You magick da wyvern! Me got you now!"
Gold star! Well done! Yes, the purpose of a fantaay setting with abstract systems of thaumagurgy is to allow for the impossible. However, what works for the wyvern works for the wyrm. Six-limbed dragons are as equally realistic or unrealistic as any four-limbed kind.

[P] The entire build of a tyrannosaur is focused around two powerful running legs. If one were to add a set of very powerful wings to that? They'd still be vestigial! That isn't all, though. The tyrannosaur is build very, very specifically, so by adding those wings it'd place immense pressure on their heart. I severely doubt that they'd be ambulatory. And if they tried? It would probably just result in a heart attack.

[P] Why does this matter to me?
"Dawrr, da fawr-limbded is more real fer durgans."
No. No it isn't, you challenged little man. The wyvern, as you see it, is a fucking tyrannosaur with wings. I have a helpful video for you! You won't understand it, but at least I have it! No creature on earth moves like a wyvern becauae they CAN'T. Wyverns are incompatible with the physics of our reality. They definitely couldn't fly!

[P] *Mad scientist cackle.*
This was profoundly cathartic for oh so many reasons. I mean, it isn't going to hold any sway over the bloody neuroenshittified majority because they're a non-stick frying pan for evidence, water and the backs of ducks et al. Still, it is appreciated. It won't change anything because... Well, see: flat earthers. Still, it just feels really vindicating even if they won't get it.

I'm putting together an AI policy for the syllabi. I'm sad chatGPT and Bing AI don't play anymore, but Bard comes through with flying colors.

Cycled through Leckhampstead on my #NewYear ride today.
This little 'endy' village is in a steep valley of the river Leck, a tributary of the Great Ouse.
The timpanum over the south doorway of the church shows a pair of pagan-looking #Wyverns and a pointy-eared devil.
The timpanum may predate the Norman doorway as it does not fill the archway well.
I try to imagine the fearful worldview of the people who chose this image for a building that was so important in their lives.
