I am continuing my #Discworld re-read and I had been looking forward to the experience of reading them in order, right from the beginning. But: currently I'm on holiday and have thus resorted to reading a book my wife packed, #TheFifthElephant.
Which makes quite a contrast. I had just gotten as far as #WyrdSisters (#6) and was thinking "this isn't half bad"; three paragraphs into Elephant and there's a huge step up in quality in every direction.

A Blessed #wintersolistice and #yule to all who celebrate!
The nights are dark, but the #wheel now turns toward the light.
May the brilliance of the sun's coming light pierce through your lives, bearing love, abundance, hope, and prosperity.Link above is to my favourite #solisticecaroles, by the #wyrdsisters

Was filling up the Jellyfin server with my DVDs, right up until I ripped Terry Pratchett‘s Wyrd Sisters.
Sometimes you just have to stop to watch something. 😂🧙♀️🧙♀️🧙♀️

A week ago I embarked on a reread of every single #Discworld novel in order of publication and I am thoroughly enjoying myself. Just finished #7 (#Pyramids) which is a new favourite. #Wyrdsisters is still my favourite of the first seven so far, though.

If you are in or near Amsterdam and love Terry Pratchett, then come see Wyrd Sisters on stage.

Finished #WyrdSisters by #TerryPrachett. Only Terry could make a satire of #Macbeth and have a play in the book. The books really seem to be finding the voice he uses throughout the rest of the series. The Disc is becoming more fully formed. I really enjoyed this one, even if it took me a couple more weeks than expected.
...Don't know what I want to read next though...

Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages.

@vicorva
you mention #Discworld as a book example, but have you seen the live action films The Colour of Magic (based on the first two #Rincewind novels), #Hogfather (#DEATH and Susan the titular holiday character), and Going Postal (Moist von Lipwig reviving the post office), as well as the animations #SoulMusic and #WyrdSisters?
Short live action + CGI film #TrollBridge has also been filmed, but AFAIK it's only been shown at a film festival so far.
