I wish #LiquidGlass worked. I wish it was as awesome as the videos from #WWDC25 made it look at first glance. But it really isn’t. I hope #Apple prioritises fixing this, because it’s really not a good look.

I've done everything https://developer.apple.com/documentation/widgetkit/optimizing-your-widget-for-accented-rendering-mode-and-liquid-glass says and if I don't switch to the glass mode for Springboard my backgrounds remain solid.

Was catching up on some #wwdc25 videos this morning and they were going over the AI tools in #Xcode. It completely reinforced my opinion that no one will ever learn how anything works if they rely on this stuff.

Xcode fix that issue. Xcode make my UI do this thing.

Let me start by saying this won't be a thing but I wanted to see if I make a window fully transparent, would a Liquid Glass view still show whatever is behind the app... and two, what would it look like if I made a music player that sorta resembled an old Audion skin... (Mastodon won't let me mix media types, so here's the video -- #Audion screenshot in the next post).

But I'm getting ideas for new apps #macOS that aren't necessarily square in shape! :)

After having used it for a few days on my main phone, I quite like the new minimal design of Safari on iOS 26, but there has to be a better way to make things legible than the automatic switching between light and dark mode. I find it distracting and it must be difficult to get this working reliably all the time, with such varied content.

I am loving all of the quality of life improvements the Shortcuts team did to App Intents and App Shortcuts for OS26 platforms. I also learned a better way to make navigational intents that helped me delete so much code I previously had.

Their #WWDC25 videos were freakin' awesome this year for all of App Intents, Shortcuts, Controls, and Widgets!

I got through all of my 38 bookmarked #WWDC25 sessions... 😮‍💨

Now time to start implementing.

Apple Intelligence: Prywatność na pierwszym miejscu w porównaniu z konkurencją

Sztuczna inteligencja rozwija się błyskawicznie, ale często kosztem prywatności. Apple stawia jednak na inne podejście – oparte na przetwarzaniu danych lokalnie i ochronie użytkownika.

Co, pod kątem prywatności, wyróżnia Apple Intelligence na tle konkurencji?

1. Lokalne modele na urządzeniu: funkcje Apple Intelligence działają bezpośrednio na urządzeniu – dlatego wymagają iPhone’a 15 Pro, iPhone’a 16 lub Maca/iPada z procesorem Apple M1. Dzięki temu dane użytkownika nie opuszczają sprzętu, a funkcje jak podsumowania powiadomień czy Genmoji działają całkowicie lokalnie.
2. Prywatna chmura Apple (Private Cloud Compute): cięższe zadania trafiają do bezpiecznej chmury Apple, która nie przechowuje danych użytkownika. Apple udostępnia kod źródłowy tego systemu, umożliwiając niezależną weryfikację ochrony prywatności.
3. Integracja z ChatGPT bez ryzyka: dzięki współpracy z OpenAI, żadne dane użytkowników Apple nie są przechowywane ani wykorzystywane do trenowania modeli. Co więcej, Siri nie wysyła zapytań do ChatGPT bez wyraźnej zgody użytkownika.

Firma opublikowała też ostatnio obszerny raport techniczny, w którym szczegółowo opisuje działanie, architekturę i proces trenowania swoich fundamentalnych modeli językowych, stanowiących trzon systemu Apple Intelligence – o czym pisał szeroko Darek.

Nadal jednak nie ma róży bez kolców i przy wszystkich zaletach Apple Intelligence należy pamiętać, że w Polsce ze sporej części funkcji po prostu nie skorzystamy. Oficjalnie powodem są unijne regulacje, ale nadal trudno mi uwierzyć, że jedna z największych firm świata nie jest w stanie się jakoś dogadać z kim trzeba.
