Colquitz River. In Summer.
As seen from the footbridge in Cuthbert Holmes, a Saanich municipal park. Colquitz Creek/River is an important local salmon bearing waterway. It is part of a protected watershed system that includes Craigflower Creek. Both feed out into Portage Inlet & the Gorge Waterway.#ColquitzRiver #SaanichParks #River #Nature #Saanich #YYJ #VictoriaBC #CuthbertHolmesPark #Waterway #Watershed #VancouverIsland #VanIsle #PacificNorthwest #Cascadia #PNW #Autumn #photography #NatureWalks #monochrome #WorldInMyEyes #WsanecTerritory

Two of my favourite plants! 💚😍 To be honest I have so many "favourite plants" it could be said I love them all deeply. Such textures, shapes, hues and lines. Every plant is art-full and full of spirit. Vibrant. Generous. An integral part of habitats and bi(h)omes. Regenerative, and nourishing to the heart, mind, and sometimes belly. How I love thee....

We went to see the river to check on water levels and see if the fish were okay... It was a relief to see that water still flowed and #coho babies swimming among the rocks. There's a forecast for rain this coming week. May we all be blessed. Especially the salmon people.

It's hot & dry in #wsanecterritory. It feels early this year.... The ephemeral ponds have dried up, seeds are rattling in their pods. When the cool wet forest friends come seeking a moist spot in your flowerbeds it's time to be extra careful about fire. #Pacifictreefrog was perched on my stick fence when I came home from work. I sang them a little song. Offered some water. Then left them alone. In the morning they were gone. #treefrog #treefrogs #frog #frogs #dryseason #夏 #かえる #蛙 #frosch

A little snow-locked at home, a dreary sky, and no birds to speak of I was feeling glum. But there is always someone marvellous outside. On the cold dark days it is better to bring a smaller frame. When you go smaller, the world becomes bigger and wonders unfold before my eyes. The flowering bodies of #PixieCupLichen lit me up this afternoon. #WSANECTerritory #lichen #winterwalks
