Peekaboo. Three Northern House Wrens were feeding and frolicking together, and having way too much fun to sit still for a photo, but I finally got this snapshot of one of them peering around this fallen tree trunk.

For #Wrensday... This is not the sharpest photo, but I like that is shows the wings. To me, a wren in flight seems to have short, stubby wings, and it has to beat the air furiously to get anywhere. But here the the wings seem long and graceful.

Time to spring into #Wrensday!

Spunky and vocal creatures, wrens are. And this Marsh Wren was no exception as it sang while riding the phragmites on a breezy day.

Recently I was sorting through some of my bird photo backlog, and realized I hadn't shared these photos of a dear little Northern House Wren couple I saw near their nest hole last summer!

One bird does a wingbeat display to attract the mate's attention. Then it offers the moth as a gift to the mate, who takes it but offers it back so they both hold it before it is finally accepted.

Happy #Wrensday! This one (eventually) hopped into a little patch of sunshine.

Bonus: While I was photographing the wren, a turkey vulture drifted into home airspace. It was quickly escorted away by an F-16 Blackbird.
