#ScribesAndMakers 6/21. Our next featured creator works collaboratively with their partner, often working in worlds the other created. Do you create work based on the creations of others? (Eg. Pop art, fan art, fan fic, etc.) Why or why not?

Not in writing so far, though if I ever get around to my sapphic War of the Worlds re-telling the answer will become "yes".

"Why not?" because "Why?" I have plenty of my own ideas, in fact limitless ideas.

Then I remembered that time I wrote an audio play based on a Eurhythmics song (I had a vague idea of doing a series of them - I didn't).

As 3D render practice I sometimes take movie scenes and try to recreate them, with varying degrees of success. It's good training.

I think my writing is excellent. (ahem)

I wouldn't say I "seek to imitate", just that it simply is cinematic - because that's what I see in my mind when I'm writing.

As is most of my 3D render work.

#ScribesAndMakers 4/16. How do you feel about illustrations in (non-comic) books?

On the one hand, I really like the idea and that was one reason I started doing monochrome erotic illustrations.

On the other hand, I don't like forcing my own image of the characters on my readers.

On the other other hand, Bookfunnel are now allowing additional item downloads with any books they're delivering so you can give people extra stuff - including pictures.

And on the final hand, I can't do it for most of my fantasy books because there is no 3D model of a feathered wyvern, which is beyond frustrating. (I've even offered people money to make one.)

#WritersCoffeeClub 1/2. Talk about something you’ve retold.

Thought about this a lot and came up with nothing really.

There is one story I finished but then lost (for reasons) which I could retell, but I probably won't. Though its loss annoys me.

I considered re-doing The War of the Worlds as a 3D-rendered comic where the MC is a lesbian accompanied by her "companion", but the more I thought about it the more it became the story of a completely different person with different events, so not strictly a re-telling.

(When you analyse WotW honestly, some of the story-telling is a bit poo.)

I was four in 1978 and when the album came out my mother played it non stop for 3 months.
It both terrified me and enraptured like no other album. I still have her original gatefold album from 1978. It's probably the most listened to thing in my life.

#WotW I'll probably leave the Friendica instance up even if I end up sticking with Hubzilla, just for the couple of you who use it, since I'm not using that Dedicated Friendica Machine™ for anything else right now. That having been said, would you consider moving?

I'm mainly thinking of @protestation here, since I know this account has at least a few followers. That having been said, Hubzilla lets you manage multiple identities from a single account, and also lets you clone these identities between servers, so even if one server goes away, you don't lose everything. It might be particularly handy for you and your different accounts on different instances for different languages.

It also chugs a whole lot less. I never did figure out why Friendica is so slow.
