For #worldradioday , I'm highlighting Charles Herrold, who, in 1909, started the world's first regular radio broadcasts in San Jose, California.
By 1910, this included news, music & live entertainment, and broadcasting local music & drama productions from what today is San Jose State University.
In 1915, Herrold broadcast non-stop with live music and talk from San Jose to a radio booth at San Francisco's 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition, over 50 miles away.

There’s a striking sense of pride in these decades of work that has been under attack from British governments led by Blair, Cameron, and even more so their "conservative" successors.
