Día de la Opera

El Día Mundial de la Ópera se celebra el 25 de octubre, fecha elegida porque coincide con el nacimiento de dos grandes compositores: Georges Bizet, autor de la famosa ópera «Carmen», y Johann Strauss II, reconocido por la opereta vienesa «El murciélago». Esta celebración, promovida por las organizaciones Opera America, Ópera Latinoamérica y Opera Europa, tiene como objetivo difundir y reivindicar el valor cultural de la ópera, acercándola a públicos de todo el mundo, sin importar edad o procedencia.

La conmemoración se ha extendido internacionalmente y contó en 2024 con actividades como transmisiones en vivo, conciertos en las calles, ensayos abiertos, y programas educativos en teatros y ciudades de todo el mundo, como en el Teatro Real de Madrid o el Gran Teatre del Liceu en Barcelona. Este día también destaca la reciente declaración de la ópera italiana como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.

El Día Mundial de la Ópera busca promover esta forma artística con más de 400 años de historia, que a pesar del paso del tiempo sigue vibrando y emocionando a millones con sus producciones, desde grandes teatros hasta espacios pequeños.
