Your Toronto Zoo was proud to celebrate #WorldMigratoryBirdDay earlier today with two morning guided bird walks 🪶

Led by two guides, and our Lead Guardian of Birds, the walk allowed for exclusive access and an opportunity to spot songbirds.

Today is #WorldMigratoryBirdDay. This migratory bird is on her way back from the Baltics, after two weeks taking a lot of photographs, and climbing even more stairs. So while I fly back over the Atlantic, please enjoy this photo of a spotted sandpiper, captured unspotted during its non-breeding season in #CostaRica.

For #WorldMigratoryBirdDay amazing tale of a Ruddy Turnstone I saw on island of Noronha, Brazil in April. Tagged at Cape Cod last May, to find out why globally Near Threatened. Nested Canadian Arctic, visiting Rowley Island where I had 3 summers 40 years ago! www.manomet.org/publication/... #birds

World Migratory Bird Day

🌍 Cos’è (e perché continua a emozionare)

Il tema 2026 è: “Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!”

A late but pretty post for today's #WorldMigratoryBirdDay. A group of White-crowned Sparrows is still sticking around here, and I love that I get to thoroughly watch them from all angles at the brush pile. They seem to love it there, it provides easy cover if they feel they need it. They also use the pond, so keep an eye out, you may see them. I am not sure how long they will still stick around, I never had that many visiting and staying around for so long. #birds
