#Hepatitis B and C claimed the lives of 1.13 to 1.3 million people in 2023/2024, mainly due to associated #liverCancer and #cirrhosis (#GBDstudy, #WHO). The #trend is still increasing.
The prevalence of #HepatitisB infection among #children under five decreased from 0.8% in 2015 to 0.6% in 2024 – far off track to meet the WHO #target of 0.1% by 2030.
