Felt like they were going to throw it away, but they finally get over the line, and Northern Ireland win the World Cup of Darts for the first time ever. Both players in tears of joy. You can see how much that means to them. Fabulous to see, and great reactions from the Welsh team too.

Excellent quarter-final match between Germany and Australia. Some of Whitlock's visits probably cost them that, but Germany through, just.

Australia and Argentina face off in the last game of the night. As mentioned before, we've been to Argentina and it's wonderful there so we should support them, while we've not been to Australia because it's very far away and everything wants to kill you.
But Whitlock lives locally and supports #Portsmouth so that makes it tricky.
We don't mind who wins, in other words.

Germany beat England.
Bugger.
But, Germany were consistent while England had a couple of good spells, and that was the difference. Great, steady darts from the hosts and worthy winners.

Squeaky bum time in the #Darts as England trail 5-2 at the break. The seeding system possibly doesn't help the big teams by not giving them practice at competitive matches in this format ahead of the final 16, but fair play to Germany, they've not buckled when England looked like they'd stepped up a gear.

Host nation Germany taking on favourites England now. We like Germany, we like the German people, but we are most definitely Team England and Team Lukes.

Back in from some lovely afternoon and evening sunshine in the garden time to see the Dutch hand Scotland its arses on a silver platter in the World Cup of Darts with an 8-0 win, and I shouldn't laugh but I have been drinking for many hours, and they'd do the same to us.

World Cup of Darts draw for the last 16 puts #1 seed England against the host nation, Germany. Probably the one thing the organisers didn't want until the final or nearer it.

Low-key final match until that very last leg. Kiwis had their chance but didn't take it.

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries being awarded MBEs by the King for services to #Darts ahead of their matches in the tournament is a nice touch. Bit weird, but still nice.

Final match of the evening and the group stage, and it's New Zealand versus Argentina. As we've been to Argentina and loved it there, they'll be the team we're supporting now.

Austria versus Australia in the #Darts right now and we've not been to either country so wouldn't know who to support if it wasn't for Australia's Simon Whitlock living near us here in #Portsmouth and being the closest thing to a darts star we can claim as our own.
We don't talk about Andy Jenkins.

Love that the largely German crowd were still cheering on and wanting Paul Lim of Singapore to get that 170 and take that last leg against Germany. Everyone loves Paul Lim.

One of the best things about the World Cup of Darts being held in Frankfurt is that German fans singing really cannot be mistaken for any other nation's fans singing.

World Cup of Darts is on and we're doing our usual thing of supporting the country playing that we've been to if there's only one, or supporting the country we most liked visiting if we've been to both.
Croatia and Japan just now. "They're both great," said my wife, "but Croatia didn't have spiders as big as our hands, so..."
Could've gone either way, but Japan upset Croatia.
