I didn't know it was #WorldBeeDay but every day here is Bee Day, along with wasps, flies, butterflies, beetles etc..lol
Caught this bumblebee earlier, but no great shots as they keep moving and I didn't have the right lens (close-up micro + bumbles don't like it if you get that close...lol)
On a wild native Ribes/Gooseberry which the bumbles love- early flowering + all over the place- important plants!

The white cultivar(s) (I know only 1 tho) of #borage are excellent for somewhat shadier spts. Put em near #composting, to soak up leaching nutrients and grow useful biomass.
In maximum sun, the flowers also easily wilt and turn brown. In subdued or partial lighting, with plenty moisture and nutrients, the plants will grow luxuriously and the white flowers will shine like stars. A good choice for places one wouldn't usually think of growing borage.With the green parts not safe to eat at all, the flowers are the one food use you'll want anyway.
If you want the minerals for health, make a proven safe extract, don't consume raw. I wouldn't make a borage extract if it's not certified organic and from clean soil you 100% trust, Borago and its entire clade all the way to Phacelia are pretty indiscriminiate about the trace elements they collect. One does not want cadmium
or lead in their micronutrient shot. -

Die Hecke südlich der Mahnwache in Manheim besteht übrigens aus Alpen-Johannisbeeren. Sind aber alles Männchen, soweit ich sehen kann; diese Art ist kein Zwitter wie die Garten-Johannisbeeren. Schmecken aber angeblich eh nach nix.
Aber auch diese sind top, um eure Bestände an Andrena fulva und Hummeln zu boosten. Und die geben euch dann im Gegenzug einen fetten Ertrag bei euren "richtigen" Johannis- und Stachelbeeren: Everyone benefits!
Zumal die Alpen-Johannisbeere in der Pflege so simpel ist wie nur was. Einfach nach der Blüte, wenn sie euch zu sehr in die Quere wächst, mit der Heckenschere drübergehen wie ihr wollt, 1-2mal pro Sommer und fertig. Das gibt schöne kleine dichte Büschchen.
Grünflächenämter lieben sie als Straßenbegleitgrün, weil sie die Schadstoffe locker wegsteckt, im Schatten noch gut gedeiht, von jedem ungelernten Hartz-Opfer kompetent gepflegt werden kann, und auch verhindert dass der Boden von den Abgasen der Verbrenner überdüngt: Sieht zwar aus wie'n Hänfling, aber frisst für zwei.
Ein echter Bro, selbst wenn du nur Stecklinge von den Dudes bekommst.

RWE hat in Alt-Manheim Gründüngung gesät, vermutlich so ein "Ausgleichsflächen"-Greenwashing. Naja, da war offenbar Maus- oder Johanniswicke mit in der Mischung drin. Gegenüber des Bauernhofgeländes, am Südostende eines der aufgeschütteten Erdberge. Vermutlich der östliche, dem Foto nach zu urteilen - dann wäre das so 50°53'0.24"Nord 6°36'9.40" Ost plusminus. Dieses Gelände war zumindest vor einem Jahr auch noch frei zugänglich; die Samen dürften bald reif sein.
Sieht aus wie ne schmächtige Dicke Bohne mit dunkellila geaderten Blüten. Das dunkle ist Melanin; eine der ganz wenigen Pflanzen, die Melanin enthalten. Auf dem Foto sind es die Hoschis mit den großen Blättern rechts unten.
Wenn ihr einen Weinstock habt, ist das DIE Gründüngung der Wahl - warmer kalkiger Boden mit bisschen Geröll, sonniger Standort; da steht die genausosehr drauf wie es Wein tut.
Und auch diese Wicke ist bei etlichen Wildbienen beliebt. Essen kann man sie nicht, aber who cares? Die Bienen, die die bestäuben, bestäuben auch Erbsen.
