  1. It's been so long since I mailed a physical letter that I had to look up mailbox locations on OpenStreetMap for the village I moved to. Even with a cold, I made the trek today because it was for the Red Hat Germany Works Council election. Democracy is important, and every single vote counts. 🗳️

    Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to the 68th Solidarity Meeting in Wedding.

    Topic: Works Council Elections 2026

At our March Solidarity Meeting, we want to focus on the works council elections, which will now take place from 1 March to 31 May 2026.

In Germany, works councils are the body responsible for co-determination within the workplace. In social work organisations, there are often no works councils, or very few that are militant.

Let’s exchange views on the works council elections across organisational boundaries, fill in the gaps in our knowledge together, support one another and discuss how we can establish more militant works councils in social work.

What’s your works council like so far? Are you standing for election this year? How are preparations going in your workplace? Are there divisions or conflicts?

  7. 🔐 From private complaints to election results – works councils handle some of the most sensitive data in any organization. But how secure is that information, really?

💬 Discover why encryption isn’t optional anymore – and how works councils can take back control of their digital confidentiality.

  8. Pay gap analysis is hard, hard work. Sifting through thousands of lines of data, trying to identify reliable ways to make an argument and identify correct comparisons. Salary bands, levels, job descriptions — they all need to be accounted for. In case you thought being an elected member of the Works Council in a global company is easy (at least when you decide to take your responsibility serious).

  9. To defend the interests of workers, you need to be a worker yourself, IMHO. That means spending a lot of time, unpaid, outside of working hours, to Get Change Done. Defending the interests of capital can be outsourced and done without losing working time or spare time.

  10. really proud to announce that today we called for a General Assembly at #HelloFresh.

I, along with 5 of my colleagues, firmly believe we need better employee representation and co-determination rights. so we are asking the employees of HelloFresh SE to join us on 7 Feb at #Estrel #Berlin to vote for an electoral board to carry out #WorksCouncil elections.
