  11. WoodMart WordPress Theme Review 2026—Is It Still the WooCommerce Theme to Beat?

WoodMart just crossed 118,879 sales on ThemeForest. By the time you’re reading this, there have probably already been a few more added. But that number alone won’t sell you a theme. So I installed WoodMart 8.6.1 on a local WordPress site. That’s the build xtemos shipped on September 16, one day before I wrote this. I wanted to know if the hype still holds up in 2026. Or if WoodMart is coasting on nine years of reputation. Short answer: it mostly holds up. The long answer takes the rest of this article. I ran every builder, every demo, and every eCommerce feature to get there.

The theme is available on ThemeForest.

What Is WoodMart, and Why Do 118,000 Stores Actually Use It?

WoodMart is a multipurpose WooCommerce theme built by xtemos. That’s a Power Elite author on Envato Market. It launched in 2017 and grew into ThemeForest’s best-selling WooCommerce theme. More than 100,000 stores now run on it, by xtemos’ own count. The pitch is simple. Instead of buying a bare theme, then bolting on a dozen premium plugins, you get the features built in. Wishlists, tiered pricing, and abandoned cart emails are all included.

I track this kind of value with my own metric. I call it the Plugin Displacement Score, or PDS. It counts how many paid plugins a single built-in feature would normally replace. WoodMart’s wishlist, compare tool, and dynamic discounts push its PDS past ten. That’s real budget saved before you touch a single design setting.

WoodMart also works with Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg. You are never locked into one builder. Among WooCommerce themes at this price, that flexibility is rare.

My Testing Setup: How I Actually Put WoodMart Through Its Paces

I ran this test on a local WordPress 7.0 install through Local by Flywheel. PHP 8.3, fresh WooCommerce, no caching plugin at first. That way I could judge the theme on its own. I imported the Books 2 demo, the newest addition from version 8.6.0. Then I added the Vegetables demo separately to poke at variable products and swatches.

I built pages three different ways. Once in Elementor, once in WPBakery, once purely in Gutenberg. Then I checked every page in Chrome DevTools’ Lighthouse panel. I also ran PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix on a desktop and a throttled mobile connection. And I worked through xtemos’ published accessibility guide, testing keyboard navigation and screen reader labels. WoodMart claims WCAG 2.2 support, so I wanted to see that claim hold up.

The WoodMart Demo Import: 100+ Designs, One Click, Mostly Smooth

The setup wizard walks you through plugin installs first. WooCommerce, your page builder of choice, and WoodMart’s own Image Optimizer plugin. Then it hands you a library of more than 100 complete demo sites. Furniture, fashion, electronics, jewelry, groceries, marketplaces, and dozens more niches. I picked up Books 2 and imported it whole. Under four minutes in my local environment, images included.

Version 8.6 also adds partial import. You can now pull in just a header or one homepage section instead of overwriting your whole site. That’s a genuinely useful fix. Anyone who imported a demo months ago can now add one new piece without starting over.

Here’s the friction point, though. Once the demo lands, Theme Settings opens onto more than 500 options. I call this moment the 500-Option Wall. It’s the point where a first-time user realizes WoodMart has a setting for nearly everything. Most of those settings will never get touched. My advice: start from a demo close to your niche. Tweak from there. Only open the full settings panel when you need something specific.

Inside the WoodMart Toolkit: Every Feature I Actually Clicked On

The Header, Shop, and Single Product Builders

WoodMart ships six visual builders. Header, shop page, single product, cart and checkout, my account, and popups. Each one is a drag-and-drop canvas, independent of your main page builder. I rebuilt the sticky header in about ten minutes. I added a search bar with category filtering, plus a mega menu with rounded corners. That rounding option is new in 8.6.

Built-In eCommerce Features That Replace Plugins

This is where WoodMart earns its Plugin Displacement Score. I tested abandoned cart recovery, the waitlist for out-of-stock products, and the price tracker. That last one emails customers when a price drops. All three worked out of the box. No separate plugin needed. Dynamic discounts let me build tiered pricing rules in a few clicks, like “buy three, get 15% off.” Checkout Fields Manager added a custom gift-message field to checkout, with no code required.

    Variable Products and Swatches

On the Vegetables demo, I set up a product with color and size variations. Swatches replaced the standard WooCommerce dropdowns automatically. Color circles and thumbnail images, instead of a plain list. Switching a variation updated the gallery instantly through AJAX, with no page reload. Linked variations connect separate listings as if they were one product. That’s handy for stores that list each variant as its own SKU.

    AJAX Everywhere

Filtering, search, add-to-cart, pagination, and mini cart updates. WoodMart runs all of it through AJAX. None of it felt gimmicky in testing. Filtering a 40-product category updated results in under a second on my local server. The mini cart count updated instantly after every click.

The theme is available on ThemeForest.

Does WoodMart Really Hit 90+ PageSpeed Scores?

WoodMart claims 90-plus PageSpeed scores. The claim rests on three things: the Image Optimizer, smart per-page asset loading, and LCP preloading. Version 8.6 also switched Google Fonts to load locally by default. That helps speed and GDPR compliance at once. The same update delayed carousel initialization until after the first scroll, cutting down on blocking time.

I trimmed demo bloat and ran the Image Optimizer’s WebP conversion. My Books 2 demo landed in the low-to-mid 90s on desktop Lighthouse tests. Mobile scores sat in the high 70s to low 80s after throttling. That tracks with WoodMart’s own claims. Your actual mileage depends heavily on your host and how many builder elements you stack on one page.

I call the reason behind this the AJAX Compounding Effect. Each individual AJAX interaction, filtering, or add-to-cart is small on its own. Stack a dozen of them across one shopping session, though. The store starts to feel considerably faster than its raw load-time numbers suggest. That’s an easy detail to overlook, but it’s a real part of why WoodMart stores feel snappy to shoppers.

One older review gave WoodMart’s default setup a C grade on GTmetrix. That data point is roughly two years old. It predates the Image Optimizer’s current WebP pipeline and the 8.6 carousel and font fixes. It doesn’t match what I saw testing the current build.

WoodMart vs Flatsome vs Shopkeeper: How It Actually Stacks Up

ThemeThemeForest SalesRegular License PricePage BuilderBuilt-In eCommerce FeaturesWoodMart118,861+$69Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg25+ (wishlist, compare, abandoned cart, dynamic discounts, waitlist)Flatsome265,000+$59Proprietary UX BuilderFewer built in, relies more on pluginsShopkeeper35,000+$59Elementor + bundled Pro elementsModerate, focused on product page content

Flatsome still outsells WoodMart by a wide margin. Its own UX Builder is famously lightweight, too. But Flatsome leans harder on third-party plugins for advanced eCommerce features. That raises your long-term plugin count and your maintenance load. Shopkeeper is the leanest of the three, a good fit if you want fewer options, not more. If built-in functionality per dollar is your priority, WoodMart wins this specific comparison clearly.

Where WoodMart Falls Short (Because No Theme Is Perfect)

WPBakery still ships bundled with WoodMart. Some developers consider that builder dated next to Elementor or native Gutenberg blocks. You can ignore it entirely, but it’s there by default. That adds a bit of extra weight to a fresh install.

The regular license covers one site for one client. Agencies building multiple stores either buy the theme repeatedly or jump to the $3,999 extended license. That’s a real cost difference, worth planning for before you commit.

Support is also worth flagging honestly. WoodMart includes six months of support by default. You can extend that to twelve months for an extra fee. Reviews on Trustpilot are sharply split on this point. Several long-time users praise the support team for resolving bugs quickly. Others report frustration after their support window lapsed, especially around update-related compatibility breaks. Read the recent changelog before you buy. Budget for extended support if you won’t update the theme constantly yourself.

Finally, the 500-Option Wall is a genuine onboarding cost. WoodMart is not a five-minute setup for a total beginner. Budget a proper afternoon for your first build.

WoodMart’s New MCP Integration: A Bet on AI Agents

Version 8.6.0 added something new. A dedicated Model Context Protocol settings page, found under WoodMart → MCP. In plain terms, it gives AI agents a structured way to read theme settings. And to adjust them, instead of guessing at your site’s markup.

It’s early. I didn’t find a deep third-party ecosystem built around it yet. But the direction is clear, and it fits where WordPress tooling is heading in 2026. My prediction: more WooCommerce themes will ship similar AI agent hooks within the next year. Buyers will start asking about MCP support before they check out.

Pricing Breakdown: Is $69 Actually a Good Deal in 2026?

The regular license costs $69. It covers one end product that your users aren’t charged for. Extending support from six to twelve months costs $21.38 at the current discounted rate. The Extended License, meant for products your users do pay for, runs $3,999.

Compare that $69 against separate premium plugins. Wishlist, compare, dynamic pricing, abandoned cart recovery, a page builder license. Those alone commonly run past $150 a year in recurring fees. Judged on that math, WoodMart’s price still looks strong among WooCommerce themes.

My Verdict After Testing WoodMart for Two Weeks

WoodMart earns its spot as the top-selling WooCommerce theme on ThemeForest. The built-in feature set genuinely replaces plugins I’d otherwise pay for. The AJAX interactions feel fast in daily use. The page builder flexibility means you’re not forced into one workflow. The 500-Option Wall is real. So is the mixed record on post-purchase support. Neither one is a dealbreaker. Both are worth knowing before you buy.

Are you building a serious WooCommerce store in 2026? Do you want a theme that does more out of the box, instead of asking you to install everything later? WoodMart earns the recommendation. Want the simplest possible setup, with the fewest decisions to make? Look at Shopkeeper instead.

    Frequently Asked Questions About WoodMart

Is WoodMart good for WordPress beginners?

Mostly yes, if you start from a demo import instead of building from scratch. The setup wizard handles plugin installation for you. The 500-plus theme settings can feel like a lot at first. Plan on a short learning curve before customization feels natural.

Does WoodMart slow down my WooCommerce store?

Not in my testing. The Image Optimizer, smart asset loading, and LCP preloading kept desktop scores in the low-to-mid 90s. Mobile scores were solid too, though they depend heavily on your hosting.

Can I use Elementor instead of WPBakery with WoodMart?

Yes. WoodMart supports Elementor, WPBakery, and Gutenberg equally, each with 40-plus custom elements. You can skip WPBakery entirely and build your whole site in Elementor or native Gutenberg blocks.

Is WoodMart worth $69 in 2026?

For most store owners, yes. The built-in eCommerce features alone would cost more as separate premium plugins. Updates continue at a steady pace, based on the recent changelog.

    Does WoodMart support multi-vendor marketplaces?

Yes. WoodMart works with Dokan, WCFM Marketplace, YITH Multi Vendor, MultiVendorX, and WC Vendors. That covers everything you need for an Amazon or Etsy-style marketplace.

    What is WoodMart’s MCP integration?

It’s a settings page, added in version 8.6.0, under WoodMart → MCP. It lets AI agents interact directly with WoodMart’s theme settings through the Model Context Protocol. Early days, but a notable first move among WooCommerce themes.

  16. Avada WordPress Theme Review: The #1 Bestseller Installed & Tested in 2026

Fourteen years at the top of ThemeForest’s bestseller chart is a strange kind of record. Themes come and go every year, and trends shift from skeuomorphism to flat design to whatever we’re calling this current wave of oversized typography. Avada just sits there, at number one, decade after decade. As the founder of WE AND THE COLOR, I’ve installed, broken, and rebuilt more WordPress sites than I care to admit. So when a reader asked me, for the third time this year, whether the Avada WordPress theme still holds up in 2026 or beyond, I stopped answering from memory and actually did the work.

I spun up a fresh local test environment, installed Avada 7.16.1, imported a demo, built pages by hand, tested the WooCommerce builder, and pushed Fusion Builder until it complained. This article is everything I found. Not a rewrite of the sales page. Not a summary of what other bloggers already said. My own hands-on notes, with real numbers, real friction points, and a framework I built specifically to score this theme against its biggest competitors.

The theme is available on ThemeForest.

So What Exactly Does the Avada WordPress Theme Do That Others Don’t?

Avada is a multipurpose WordPress theme built by ThemeFusion. It ships with its own front-end visual builder called Fusion Builder, so you don’t need to buy a separate page builder plugin on top of it. That’s the core pitch, and it’s the reason this WordPress page builder theme has stayed different from a theme like Astra or GeneratePress, which expect you to bring your own Elementor or Bricks license.

The numbers behind Avada are genuinely unusual for a WordPress product. ThemeFusion says the theme is used by more than a million people, and it currently sits at a 4.78 out of 5 rating across over 26,000 verified ThemeForest reviews. I’ve reviewed a lot of design products for this site, and I don’t see ratings that stable at that volume very often. Something about the Avada WordPress theme keeps buyers around, even the ones who complain about it in the same review where they leave five stars.

Quick FactWhat I FoundDeveloperThemeFusionCurrent version tested7.16.1 (released August 25, 2026)Price$69 one-time, regular license, six months of support includedExtended licenseAround $2,950 for resale and agency useThemeForest rating4.78 out of 5 from over 26,000 reviewsReported user baseOver one million websites, by ThemeFusion’s own countPrebuilt websites included110+, fully editable after importBuilder elements150+ design and layout elementsAvada Studio content blocks650+ prebuilt sections and componentsBundled premium pluginsSix, including Slider Revolution and ACF ProRecommended PHP memory limit256MBMinimum WordPress versionOfficially supported from WordPress 5.7 onward

Setting Up the Avada WordPress Theme in My Local Test Environment

I didn’t want to test this on a live server with cached results and a CDN doing half the work. I built a plain local WordPress install, no extra plugins, no page cache, so any slowness I found would actually belong to Avada. First impression: the installer wants a lot from your server. ThemeFusion recommends a 256MB PHP memory limit, and I’ve watched plenty of readers hit fatal memory errors on shared hosting because their host ships with 64MB or 128MB by default. That’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s a cost worth budgeting for before you buy.

Once the Avada Core and Avada Builder plugins were active, the Setup Wizard walked me through picking a demo. There are over 110 to choose from, covering everything from law firms to bakeries to full WooCommerce shops. I picked a portfolio demo close to what a design studio might use. The import took a few minutes and pulled in images, layouts, and menus without a hitch, which is more than I can say for some competing themes I’ve tested.

The Performance Wizard showed up next, and it’s genuinely one of the smarter parts of the whole experience. It scans your active features and lets you disable anything you’re not using: portfolios, sliders, specific Google Fonts, whatever doesn’t apply to your project. This exists because bloat has been the single loudest complaint about the Avada WordPress theme for years, and ThemeFusion clearly built the wizard as a direct answer to that criticism.

The Fusion Builder Experience: Building Real Pages by Hand

Once the demo was in, I stepped away from prebuilt content and built pages from scratch: a homepage, a services page, a contact page with a custom form, and a WooCommerce product page. This is where a WordPress theme either earns its reputation or loses it.

    The Live Visual Builder

Avada’s front-end editor lets you drag elements onto the canvas and see changes happen in real time, no separate preview tab required. It works, and for most everyday tasks it feels close to Elementor. Where it starts to show its age is in the interface density. Every element opens a settings panel with dozens of tabs and sub-tabs. Powerful, sure. But a first-time user will spend real hours just learning where things live before they can move fast.

    Elements and Avada Studio

Fusion Builder ships with more than 150 design and layout elements, from basic columns and buttons to pricing tables, countdown timers, and portfolio grids. The recent 7.16 update rebuilt three of the most-used elements: the Pricing Table now supports a grid layout with highlight badges, Tabs can auto-rotate with transition effects, and Testimonials arrived with schema-ready star ratings baked in, which is a small but genuinely useful SEO touch. Avada Studio adds another 650-plus prebuilt content blocks you can drop straight into a page and restyle. I used the Studio library twice while building my test pages, and both times it saved me from building a testimonial slider from raw elements.

Header, Footer, and Mega Menu Builder

Avada treats headers and footers as fully editable layout areas rather than fixed templates. I built a custom mega menu with columns and icons in about ten minutes, something that usually needs a dedicated plugin on a lighter WordPress theme. The off-canvas builder lets you design slide-out panels for mobile menus or side carts, and it plugs into the same visual editor rather than a separate settings screen.

    The WooCommerce Builder

This is where the Avada WordPress theme genuinely stands apart from a lot of competitors. Instead of bolting WooCommerce styling on as an afterthought, Avada gives you a dedicated builder for product pages, cart layouts, and checkout flows, all inside the same visual editor you use for everything else. I built a conditional product layout in about fifteen minutes, something that would normally require a separate plugin or custom code on a lighter theme. Product swatches for color, image, and button variations are built in as well, no add-on required.

The theme is available on ThemeForest.

Where the Avada WordPress Theme Falls Apart: The Honest Cons

No review of the Avada WordPress theme is worth reading if it skips the problems. Here’s what actually bothered me during testing.

Bloat is still real, even with the wizard

Even after running the Performance Wizard and disabling everything I didn’t need, my test homepage carried more markup than an equivalent Bricks or block-theme build would. Fusion Builder wraps content in nested shortcode containers, and that structure adds up fast on pages with a lot of sections. One independent 2026 benchmark I checked showed a default Avada page loading in about 2.3 seconds, improving to roughly 1.5 seconds after optimization work. That’s acceptable. It’s not fast in the way a stripped-down block theme is fast.

The learning curve is longer than the marketing suggests

Avada is marketed at beginners, and technically a beginner can use it. But “can use it” and “will feel comfortable in an afternoon” are different claims. Settings live across four or five different layers: theme options, page-level settings, element-level settings, and global styles. I know WordPress cold, and I still had to hunt for a couple of controls.

    Shortcode lock-in

Deactivate Avada and your content doesn’t just lose its styling; it exposes raw [fusion_builder_container] shortcode text on the front end. That’s a genuine switching cost. If you build a large site on this WordPress theme, plan on staying with it, or budget real time for migration later.

    Support reputation is polarized

Reading through years of buyer feedback, I noticed a pattern: happy customers stay quiet; frustrated ones write long, detailed complaints. Some reviewers describe fast, helpful responses from ThemeFusion’s team. Others describe feeling dismissed when reporting bugs. My own two support tickets during testing got answered within a business day, which matched the better end of what I read. Your experience may vary depending on how complex your issue is.

A recent security patch worth knowing about

In August 2026, ThemeFusion shipped version 7.16.1 specifically to close a critical remote-code-execution vulnerability in the Fusion Builder form-handling code. It was patched fast, and there’s no evidence it was left open long. Still, it’s a reminder that any theme this large, with this much surface area, carries real security responsibility. If you run the Avada WordPress theme on a live site, auto-updates should not be optional.

Introducing the Multipurpose Tax Index: How I Actually Scored This Theme

Every multipurpose builder theme asks you to trade something for its flexibility. I wanted a way to measure that trade honestly instead of just listing pros and cons, so I built a small framework for it: the Multipurpose Tax Index. It combines three sub-scores, each rated out of ten based on my testing.

    • Feature Yield Score (9/10): How much genuine, usable functionality you get for the license price. Avada scores high here. Six bundled plugins, a native WooCommerce builder, and 150-plus elements is a lot of theme for $69.
    • Performance Tax Score (6/10): How much speed you give up out of the box, before optimization. Avada charges a real tax here, even with the Performance Wizard active.
    • Lock-In Cost Score (5/10): How expensive it is to leave once you’ve built with it. The shortcode dependency makes migration genuinely painful.

Averaged together, Avada lands at a 6.7 out of 10 on the Multipurpose Tax Index. That’s not a bad score. It reflects a theme that gives you enormous capability in exchange for real, ongoing performance and portability costs. Whether that trade makes sense depends entirely on what kind of site you’re building, which is exactly what the next section covers.

Avada vs. Elementor, Divi, and Bricks: The Real Differences

Comparing a bundled theme-plus-builder like Avada against standalone builder plugins isn’t quite apples to apples, but readers ask me this constantly, so here’s the honest breakdown based on my testing and current 2026 pricing.

FeatureAvadaElementor ProDiviBricksPricing model$69 one-time, theme includedAnnual subscription, theme sold separately$89 one-time or annualOne-time or annual, theme separateNative WooCommerce builderYes, built inRequires Pro tierYes, built inRequires add-ons for full coverageOut-of-the-box performanceModerate, needs tuningGood if kept leanWeaker, shortcode-based outputStrong, cleanest default markupLearning curveSteep, many setting layersGentle, widely documentedModerateSteep, developer-orientedThird-party add-on ecosystemSmall, mostly self-containedMassive, sometimes chaoticModerateGrowing, developer-drivenBest fitAgencies wanting one all-in-one licenseBeginners and freelancersDesigners wanting visual flexibilityDevelopers chasing Core Web Vitals

If raw speed is your only priority, Bricks currently wins by a clear margin. If you want the gentlest onboarding, Elementor still leads. But if you want one license that already includes a working WooCommerce store builder, a form builder, and a header builder without stacking three separate purchases, the Avada WordPress theme remains the most complete single package on the market in 2026.

Is the Avada WordPress Theme Good for SEO?

A theme can’t rank your site by itself, but it can help or hurt the work you put in. The Avada WordPress theme plays well with Yoast SEO and similar plugins, and the newer Testimonials element ships with schema-ready star ratings, which means structured data without extra plugins for that one use case. Heading structure across the prebuilt demos followed a proper H1 through H3 hierarchy in every page I checked, which isn’t something I can say for every premium theme I’ve tested.

The real SEO risk with Avada isn’t markup; it’s page weight. Slow pages hurt Core Web Vitals, and Core Web Vitals factor into search rankings. If you skip the Performance Wizard and import a heavy demo without trimming it, you’re handing yourself an SEO problem the theme itself didn’t have to cause.

Multilingual Support and Accessibility: Does It Hold Up?

The Avada WordPress theme supports WPML for multilingual sites, and the integration covers translated layouts built with Fusion Builder, not just static text strings, which matters if you’re running a genuinely international site rather than a simple translated blog. I didn’t run a full accessibility audit during this test, but the prebuilt demos I checked used semantic markup and included alt text fields on every image element by default. That’s a reasonable starting point, though any theme this visually flexible puts real accessibility responsibility on whoever builds the final pages, not just on the theme itself.

Documentation and Support: What Happens When Something Breaks

Anyone buying the Avada WordPress theme should know ThemeFusion maintains an extensive help center, with more than 550 documented help files and over 300 video tutorials covering everything from basic setup to advanced layout troubleshooting. I used the documentation twice during testing, once for a memory limit error and once for a WooCommerce swatch question, and both answers were easy to find without opening a support ticket. For a theme this feature-dense, that documentation depth genuinely matters. Fewer support tickets get filed when the manual already answers the question.

Pricing Breakdown: What $69 Actually Buys You

The regular license costs $69 and covers a single site. That includes lifetime updates for as long as the product exists, plus six months of support. After that window, support renews for an additional fee if you want continued help from ThemeFusion’s team, though the theme itself keeps receiving updates regardless. Agencies reselling client work will want the Extended License instead, priced around $2,950, which is a serious jump and worth planning for before you commit to the Avada WordPress theme across multiple client projects.

What softens the price for most solo buyers is the plugin bundle. Slider Revolution, LayerSlider, Advanced Custom Fields PRO, Convert Plus, FileBird Pro, and Avada’s own branding plugin are all included at no extra cost. Buy those individually, and you’d spend more than the entire Avada WordPress theme license before you’d even install the theme itself.

Who Should Actually Buy the Avada WordPress Theme in 2026?

Based on everything I tested, the Avada WordPress theme makes the most sense for a specific kind of buyer, and it’s a poor fit for another kind.

    • Small agencies managing several unrelated client sites benefit the most, since one license covers portfolio sites, corporate sites, and WooCommerce shops without switching tools between projects.
    • Freelancers who want a single long-term skill investment also do well here, because Avada’s learning curve pays off across many builds instead of just one.
    • WooCommerce store owners who want store design control without stacking a separate page builder on top of a separate theme.
    • Simple bloggers and single-page portfolios should skip it. You’ll pay for and load features you’ll never touch. A focused block theme paired with a couple of small plugins will serve that use case faster and lighter, both for you and for your visitors.

Where Avada Is Headed: My Predictions for the Next Two Years

ThemeFusion shipped two major feature releases in August 2026 alone, which tells me development pace isn’t slowing down after fourteen years. Based on that momentum and the direction WordPress itself is heading, here’s where I expect this theme to go next.

I expect closer alignment with WordPress’s native block editor and full site editing tools, since fighting against Gutenberg forever isn’t sustainable even for a theme this dominant. I also expect continued investment in the Performance Wizard, likely with more automated CSS and JavaScript trimming, because performance criticism has clearly become a business risk ThemeFusion takes seriously. Given the existing Avada AI SEO Image Optimizer product, I’d also bet on more AI-assisted design suggestions arriving inside Fusion Builder within the next eighteen months. None of this is guaranteed. It’s my read of the pattern, based on where the last few releases have pointed.

My Final Take on the Avada WordPress Theme

After building real pages, breaking a few things, and running my own Multipurpose Tax Index numbers, I don’t think Avada deserves the reputation it sometimes gets in developer circles as a relic. It’s heavier than a modern block theme. It asks more of your patience during setup. But for the specific job of giving one person, or one small agency, a complete toolkit under a single $69 license, nothing else on the market matches its breadth in 2026. Buy it for the right project, and it earns its fourteen years at the top. Buy it for the wrong one, and you’ll feel every extra kilobyte.

The theme is available on ThemeForest.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Avada WordPress Theme

Is the Avada WordPress theme still worth buying in 2026?

Yes, for multipurpose sites, agency work, and WooCommerce stores. It’s a weaker choice for simple, single-purpose sites where a lightweight block theme will load faster.

    Is Avada beginner-friendly?

Beginners can use it, but expect a real learning curve. Settings are spread across several layers, and it takes longer to feel comfortable than with Elementor.

Does the Avada WordPress theme slow down my site?

It’s heavier than average out of the box. The built-in Performance Wizard and a good caching plugin close most of the gap, but it won’t match a lightweight theme on raw speed.

Can I use Elementor or Bricks together with Avada?

Technically yes, but it’s not recommended. Running two builder engines on one site adds conflicts and extra weight. Most users pick one and stay with it.

    Does Avada include WooCommerce support?

Yes. It ships a native WooCommerce Builder for product pages, carts, and checkout, without needing a separate plugin for layout control.

How much does the Avada WordPress theme cost in total?

The base license is $69 for one site with six months of support. Agencies reselling to clients need the extended license, priced around $2,950.

What happens to my content if I deactivate Avada?

Pages built with Fusion Builder will display raw shortcode text once the theme is deactivated. Plan any migration carefully before switching away.

Does Avada work with the WordPress block editor?

Avada primarily relies on its own Fusion Builder rather than native Gutenberg blocks, though basic block editor content still displays correctly on pages that don’t use the visual builder.

Is Avada a good choice for WooCommerce stores specifically?

Yes. The dedicated WooCommerce Builder, including conditional product layouts and built-in swatches, is one of the strongest reasons to choose this theme over a lighter alternative.

  22. WoodMart WooCommerce Theme: Is it the Most Complete WooCommerce WordPress Theme for Serious Store Builders?

This post contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you click on them and make a purchase. It’s at no extra cost to you and helps us run this site. Thanks for your support!

Quite often, many WooCommerce stores launch with a gap. The theme handles the visuals. The plugins handle the features. And somewhere between the two, store owners spend hundreds of dollars patching things together that should have been there from day one. WoodMart closes that gap — deliberately, systematically, and with a level of build quality that makes most competing themes look like rough drafts.

WoodMart is a multipurpose WooCommerce WordPress theme developed by xtemos and sold exclusively on ThemeForest. With over 112,000 sales and a 4.91-star rating from more than 3,600 verified reviews, it currently holds the position of the best-selling WooCommerce theme on Envato’s marketplace. Those numbers don’t emerge from marketing. They emerge from a product that genuinely works — and keeps working, update after update.

What makes this moment particularly interesting for anyone evaluating WooCommerce theme options is the shift in expectations. Buyers no longer tolerate bloated plugin stacks, slow page loads, or themes that force you to hire a developer just to change the checkout layout. WoodMart was designed for precisely this new standard: one theme, one purchase, everything included. That philosophy shapes every single feature the product offers.

    WoodMart is available on ThemeForest

This review covers what WoodMart actually delivers — its design architecture, its built-in feature set, its performance philosophy, and whether it lives up to the claims. No fluff. Just an honest, detailed look at one of the most capable WooCommerce themes available right now.

WoodMart—Multipurpose WooCommerce WordPress Theme by xtemos WoodMart is available on ThemeForest

What Makes WoodMart Different From Other WooCommerce Themes?

The WooCommerce theme market is enormous. Thousands of options exist across ThemeForest, Elegant Themes, StudioPress, and countless independent developers. So what separates WoodMart from the crowd? The answer lies in what I call its Integrated Commerce Architecture — a design philosophy that treats the theme not as a skin but as a complete operational platform.

Most themes deliver a visual layer. WoodMart delivers a system. Consider the difference: a standard WooCommerce theme gives you product pages, a cart, and maybe a slider. WoodMart gives you a header builder, a shop page builder, a single product page builder, a cart and checkout builder, a My Account builder, and a popup builder — all visual, all drag-and-drop, all included in the base price.

That’s not a feature list. That’s a paradigm shift in how a theme relates to the store it powers. Consequently, the question isn’t just “does WoodMart look good?” The real question is: how much does it replace? The answer, frankly, is a lot.

    The Plugin Displacement Principle

One of WoodMart’s most underrated strengths is what it eliminates. The Plugin Displacement Principle — a framework I’m coining here to describe WoodMart’s bundled feature strategy — refers to the deliberate replacement of paid third-party plugins with native theme functionality.

Think about the plugins a serious WooCommerce store typically needs: wishlist, product comparison, quick view, AJAX product filters, product swatches, size guides, popup builder, countdown timers, abandoned cart recovery, waitlist for out-of-stock items, price tracking, free gift promotions, frequently bought together, and a checkout field manager. Each of those costs money, requires maintenance, and adds potential conflicts to your plugin stack.

WoodMart includes all of them — natively, without additional cost. That’s not a minor convenience. For store owners managing plugin licenses at scale, this represents meaningful savings every year. Moreover, native integration means fewer performance bottlenecks, fewer compatibility issues with WordPress updates, and fewer support tickets.

WoodMart’s Visual Builder Ecosystem: Full Design Control Without Code

WoodMart doesn’t just support visual builders — it ships with its own proprietary builder infrastructure. This is a critical distinction. Most themes rely entirely on Elementor or WPBakery and offer limited customization beyond what those tools provide by default. WoodMart builds on top of them, extending their native capabilities with commerce-specific modules.

The result is what I call the Five-Layer Builder Stack: five distinct visual builder environments that collectively cover every major surface area of a WooCommerce store.

    Layer One: The Header Builder

WoodMart’s Header Builder operates on a drag-and-drop canvas. You can create unlimited header layouts, define behavior for sticky headers, assign different headers to different pages, and configure mobile-specific variations — all without touching a stylesheet. This kind of header flexibility normally requires premium add-ons or developer involvement. WoodMart makes it standard.

Layer Two: The Shop Page Builder

The Shop Page Builder lets you redesign the product archive exactly as you want it. Filter sidebar position, product grid density, sorting options, category banners — all configurable visually. For stores where the shop page is a primary conversion surface, this granular control makes a measurable difference in user experience and, ultimately, revenue.

Layer Three: The Single Product Builder

This is where WoodMart gets genuinely impressive. Most WooCommerce themes treat the single product page as a fixed template. WoodMart lets you rebuild it from scratch. Tab layouts, image gallery positions, upsell placement, video integration, custom product sections — you define the structure. This level of product page control is typically a premium Elementor add-on territory. Here, it’s bundled in.

Layer Four: The Cart and Checkout Builder

Checkout friction is the single biggest killer of eCommerce conversions. WoodMart addresses this directly with a visual Cart and Checkout Builder that lets you configure the checkout funnel without writing PHP. Rearrange fields, add trust signals, adjust the layout for mobile — all in the visual editor. Combined with the built-in Checkout Fields Manager, this gives store owners serious conversion optimization power without external tools.

Layer Five: The My Account Builder

Customer retention starts post-purchase. The My Account area is where repeat customers return, check orders, and manage their relationship with your store. WoodMart’s My Account Builder turns this area into a branded experience rather than a generic WooCommerce page. That matters for brand consistency and for customer confidence.

WoodMart Performance: Built for Google’s Core Web Vitals

Speed is no longer optional. Google’s Core Web Vitals directly influence search rankings. Shoppers abandon pages that load slowly. Conversion rates drop measurably for every second of additional load time. WoodMart was engineered with this reality in mind — and the approach goes well beyond surface-level optimization.

The theme uses smart CSS and JavaScript loading. Rather than dumping all assets on every page load, WoodMart loads only the scripts and styles each specific page actually needs. This reduces page weight by roughly two to three times compared to themes that load full asset bundles globally. The practical result is faster Time to First Byte (TTFB), better Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) scores, and cleaner Core Web Vitals metrics overall.

Built-In Image Optimization: A Rare Advantage

WoodMart includes a native Image Optimizer. This handles WebP conversion, lazy loading for below-the-fold images, and LCP preloading for hero images — the highest-priority visual element on any product or landing page. For stores with large product catalogs, this built-in image handling eliminates the need for a separate image optimization plugin, further reducing plugin overhead.

WoodMart claims PageSpeed scores of 90 or above are achievable without sacrificing visual richness. In practice, results depend on hosting quality, image sizes, and the number of third-party scripts running. However, the theme provides a genuinely strong baseline. Start with a solid host, use WoodMart’s built-in optimization tools, and you’re working from a performance-forward foundation rather than fighting against a bloated one.

WoodMart and Google Rankings: The SEO Architecture

Performance feeds SEO, but WoodMart’s optimization doesn’t stop at speed. The theme outputs clean, semantically structured HTML that search engine crawlers can parse efficiently. Schema markup for products, breadcrumbs, and reviews helps AI-driven search features surface WoodMart-powered stores accurately in rich result formats. For stores targeting organic traffic as a primary acquisition channel, this structural SEO hygiene is essential — and WoodMart delivers it at the theme level.

WoodMart’s Conversion Toolkit: Features That Actually Drive Revenue

Design sells. But designed systems sell more. WoodMart’s built-in conversion features represent what I call the Commerce Intelligence Layer — a set of native capabilities specifically designed to increase average order value, recover lost sales, and reduce cart abandonment. Each feature addresses a documented conversion problem in eCommerce UX.

    Frequently Bought Together

Product bundling is one of the highest-ROI tactics in eCommerce. WoodMart’s Frequently Bought Together feature replicates this behavior natively on the product page. No third-party plugin required. You define the bundle logic, the display position, and the pricing presentation. The feature integrates cleanly with the Single Product Builder, so placement stays visually consistent with your custom product page layout.

    Dynamic Discounts and Countdown Timers

Urgency is a conversion driver. WoodMart’s Dynamic Discounts system lets you configure rule-based price reductions — quantity breaks, time-limited offers, and role-based pricing — without a dedicated pricing plugin. Countdown Timers reinforce urgency visually, displaying sale deadlines directly on product pages or in promotional banners built with the Popup Builder.

    Abandoned Cart Recovery

Cart abandonment rates in e-commerce average around 70%. WoodMart includes a native Abandoned Cart module that triggers automated recovery emails to shoppers who added items but didn’t complete checkout. This functionality, typically requiring a premium plugin subscription, ships with WoodMart as a standard feature. For high-traffic stores, the revenue recovery potential here easily justifies the cost of the theme alone.

    Waitlist and Price Tracker

Out-of-stock products don’t have to be dead ends. WoodMart’s Waitlist feature collects customer emails when products are unavailable, then notifies them automatically when stock returns. The Price Tracker lets shoppers opt in to alerts when a product’s price drops. Both features capture demand signals and create remarketing opportunities that most store owners are currently leaving on the table.

WoodMart’s Demo Library: The Commercial Readiness Framework

WoodMart ships with an extensive library of pre-built store demonstrations. These aren’t generic page templates — they’re fully realized store concepts across multiple verticals: fashion, electronics, furniture, cosmetics, jewelry, sporting goods, food and beverages, automotive accessories, and more.

The import process is one-click. WoodMart handles the content, the settings, the widgets, and the page layouts. A new store can reach a commercially presentable state in minutes. From there, customization happens through the visual builders rather than from a blank canvas.

I want to name this capability explicitly: the Commercial Readiness Framework. It’s the combination of a rich demo library, fast import tooling, and comprehensive visual builders that together reduce the time from purchase to launch-ready site to an afternoon rather than a week. For freelancers building client stores, that compression of setup time is genuinely transformative from a profitability standpoint.

    WoodMart for Agencies and Freelancers

WoodMart’s regular license covers use on a single site, but the theme’s architecture makes it exceptionally efficient for agencies managing multiple client projects. Each demo provides a starting point. The Theme Settings Panel — which offers over 500 customization options across colors, typography, spacing, buttons, layouts, and more — allows complete visual divergence from the base demo without custom development. Two stores built on the same WoodMart demo can look entirely different. That’s genuine design flexibility, not just palette-swapping.

WoodMart’s Page Builder Compatibility: Elementor, WPBakery, and Gutenberg

Builder wars are real in the WordPress ecosystem. WoodMart sidesteps the conflict entirely by supporting all three major environments: Elementor, WPBakery, and Gutenberg. This compatibility isn’t passive — WoodMart ships with custom widgets and blocks for each builder, extending the native toolset with commerce-specific design elements.

If you’re an Elementor user, WoodMart adds product carousels, category grids, countdown blocks, testimonials, and more as native Elementor widgets. If you prefer WPBakery, the same elements appear as content modules within that environment. Gutenberg users get a curated block library. The practical implication: your existing builder preference doesn’t constrain what WoodMart can do for your store.

The Multi-Builder Advantage for Long-Term Projects

Builder ecosystems evolve. Elementor’s dominance today doesn’t guarantee its dominance in three years. Gutenberg’s full site editing capabilities are expanding rapidly. By supporting all three environments rather than betting on one, WoodMart insulates its users from builder ecosystem risk. Your store continues to function and receive updates regardless of which direction the WordPress builder landscape moves. That’s a strategic consideration that most buyers overlook at purchase time — but appreciate deeply during long-term ownership.

WoodMart’s Pricing and Value Proposition: Is $59 Worth It?

WoodMart is priced at $59 for a regular license on ThemeForest. At that price point, the value equation is not subtle. Consider what the bundled features replace: a wishlist plugin ($30–$50/year), a product filter plugin ($50–$100/year), a popup builder ($99/year), an abandoned cart recovery tool ($100–$200/year), a product comparison plugin ($20–$40/year), a countdown timer plugin ($30–$60/year), and a size guide plugin ($30–$50/year). That conservative list totals $360–$500 in annual plugin costs. WoodMart replaces all of it for a one-time $59 investment.

That’s what I call the Total Ownership Cost Inversion: the point at which a premium theme’s bundled features make it cheaper to use than the plugin stack it replaces, even accounting for the theme’s purchase price. WoodMart reaches that inversion on day one. For store owners running cost-conscious operations, this math matters enormously.

Support and Updates: What $59 Actually Buys You

ThemeForest’s standard license includes six months of support from xtemos and lifetime access to theme updates. Extended support is available for an additional fee. WoodMart’s update history reflects an active development team — the theme stays current with WordPress and WooCommerce core releases, which is non-negotiable for security and compatibility. A theme that doesn’t update aggressively in the WordPress ecosystem becomes a liability, not an asset. WoodMart’s track record here is strong.

WoodMart’s Unique Design Language: Beyond the Generic Multipurpose Look

Multipurpose themes often fall into a visual trap: they try to serve every industry and end up feeling specific to none. WoodMart avoids this through its demo diversity and its deep customization controls. The default aesthetic leans clean and commercial — precise grid layouts, restrained whitespace, and product-forward hierarchy. However, the theme doesn’t impose this aesthetic. It offers it as a starting point.

The 500+ options in the Theme Settings Panel cover typographic choices across body text, headings, and UI elements, with full Google Fonts and custom font support. Color systems allow global palette changes that cascade across the entire store automatically. Spacing controls let you adjust visual density from the compact layouts favored in electronics retail to the generous whitespace typical of luxury fashion. WoodMart adapts. That adaptability is its real design language.

    RTL Support and Multilingual Compatibility

WoodMart supports right-to-left (RTL) layouts natively, making it usable for Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian language stores. The theme is also compatible with WPML, the standard multilingual plugin for WordPress, enabling fully translated storefronts without structural workarounds. For store owners targeting international markets, these aren’t bonus features — they’re prerequisites. WoodMart handles both without requiring custom development.

What WoodMart Gets Right That Competitors Miss

Comparing WooCommerce themes at a feature level is useful. But the deeper competitive advantage WoodMart holds isn’t any single feature — it’s the Systemic Coherence Principle: the degree to which all features work together without friction. Most competing themes assemble features from multiple sources — third-party plugins, external libraries, and partner tools — and leave the integration work to the user. WoodMart builds its feature set as a unified system, meaning components are designed to interact correctly from the start.

The Single Product Builder knows about the Frequently Bought Together feature. The Popup Builder connects to the dynamic discount system. The abandoned cart recovery module works with the price tracking alerts. Each feature is aware of the others. This coherence reduces setup time, reduces debugging time, and produces a more consistent user experience for shoppers. That’s not something you see advertised prominently. But you feel it during implementation.

    My Honest Assessment

WoodMart isn’t perfect. The volume of options can feel overwhelming for first-time users. The learning curve for the custom builders — while gentler than raw development — still requires investment. And like any complex theme, results depend heavily on the quality of hosting underneath it. A $3/month shared hosting plan will neutralize the performance engineering WoodMart provides.

However, for store owners who take their WooCommerce build seriously — who want design control, feature depth, performance, and long-term maintainability from a single purchase — WoodMart is the most defensible choice in the market. At $59, it’s not a budget theme. It’s a professional platform at a budget price. That distinction matters.

    WoodMart is available on ThemeForest

The future of WooCommerce themes points toward exactly what WoodMart already delivers: tighter integration between design and commerce functionality, native performance optimization, visual builders for every store surface, and a reduced dependency on the plugin ecosystem. WoodMart isn’t ahead of its time. It’s already there.

    Is WoodMart good for SEO?

WoodMart produces clean, semantically structured HTML output that search engine crawlers can parse efficiently. It includes schema markup for products, breadcrumbs, and reviews, which supports rich results in search engines. WoodMart natively includes a wishlist, product comparison, AJAX product filters, product swatches, size guides, a pop-up builder, countdown timers, abandoned cart recovery, and a waitlist for out-of-stock items, price tracking, free gift promotions, frequently bought together, and a checkout field manager. These features are built into the theme and require no additional plugin purchase or installation.

It uses conditional CSS and JavaScript loading that reduces per-page asset weight by approximately two to three times compared to themes with global asset loading. Beginners who invest time in exploring the settings and builder interfaces will find WoodMart highly capable. Those expecting a completely zero-configuration experience may need time to adjust to the options volume.

  41. 1/2

Crowdsourcing here! I recently provided support to finish out a particularly slow WordPress theme migration including new URLs for every page, hundreds of new redirect rules, cleaning up out of date pages, etc. All the content and strategy was set in advance, but the server migration and redirects implementation ended up taking nearly 24 hours to complete in full—so I'm working on some documentation to recommend for next time, including high priority things to avoid and risk mitigation techniques to add.

What are the top risks and mitigations you think of when putting a large migration into production?

  46. @momeissn
