Inshallah is a beautiful phrase.
I love the message of optimistic acceptance. (Or the other meanings in this thread, which I also like!) And personally, I geek out about how words and phrases sound. I find inshallah to be poetry.
I learned about the phrase from my sister’s ex-husband who was #Persian. He spoke #Farsi but he taught me about inshallah, and told me that it has been adopted into his culture by religious and secular Iranians alike.
Thank you for posting this, Mekka. I hope more people who don’t know about this phrase will learn it! Words are so powerful that they’re almost like magic amulets, and the good ones get stronger the more we repeat them.

Words With Friends Day – ovvero la Giornata delle Parole Amichevoli (sì, cari amici: la traduzione più carina e scorrevole in italiano è proprio questa — “Parole Amichevoli”)
Il Words With Friends Day, celebrato ogni anno il 19 luglio, è la festa ufficiale di tutti quelli
che credono che una buona parola possa cambiare la giornata…
e che una parola piazzata al posto giusto possa cambiare la partita. In Italia lo chiamiamo sempre più spesso Giornata delle Parole Amichevoli, perché non è solo un gioco: è un modo di stare insieme, ridere, sfidarsi e scoprire che “QI” non è solo un punteggio, ma anche una parola utilissima quando hai poche lettere e un disperato bisogno di fare punti.
Nato come celebrazione della community del celebre gioco digitale Words With Friends, il 19 luglio è diventato un piccolo rito estivo: ci si ritrova online, si improvvisano tornei lampo, si scambiano parole improbabili e si festeggia la magia dei vocaboli che uniscono le persone più di qualsiasi chat.
🆕 Novità 2026: parole nuove, sfide nuove, amicizie nuove
Il 2026 porta con sé qualche chicca irresistibile:
- Mini‑sfide giornaliere globali, con classifiche che cambiano ogni ora e badge stagionali (il più ambito? Il Sassolino d’Oro, per chi vince usando solo parole di massimo quattro lettere).
- Nuove parole approvate dalla community, tra cui alcune nate proprio online: “fluffare”, “sbrillìo”, “cringevole” e l’intramontabile “boomerare”.
- Eventi live: micro‑tornei in streaming dove i giocatori più veloci del mondo si sfidano in partite da 3 minuti, commentate come se fossero finali di Champions.
- Modalità Amicizia 2.0, che permette di creare tavoli privati con amici lontani, aggiungere messaggi vocali e perfino inviare “parole‑abbraccio” (non servono a vincere, ma fanno sorridere).
Insomma, la Giornata delle Parole Amichevoli 2026 non è solo un appuntamento per chi ama i giochi di parole: è un invito a giocare con la lingua, a divertirsi con gli altri e a ricordare che le parole, quando sono amichevoli, fanno miracoli.

I’m a Ceraunophile. That’s someone who finds deep comfort and excitement in thunder. Today in Metro Vancouver, I’ve already counted 8 claps of thunder! Each one feels like a reset for my nervous system.
There’s a cool bit of science behind this "sonic boom."
Thunder is actually the sound of air expanding. When lightning strikes, it heats the air to 30,000°C—that's 5 times hotter than the sun. This instant heat makes the air explode outward faster than the speed of sound.
Lightning and thunder are a perfect pair and happen at the exact same time. We only see the flash 1st because light travels much faster than sound. By the time the boom reaches my ears, the light has already cleared the path.
In my system work, I focus on self-respect and regulation. Sometimes we need a sonic boom in our own lives to clear the air. It helps us make space for a new frequency.
