To NVDA users: Is anyone else having a problem with the NVDA+D keystroke to read additional details on something. Specifically, I went and tried to read the long description on a table in Word and while the long desc was in the description field, the file was a .docx, I am using 2025.2 of NVDA, Word365, and nothing I have tried returns anything but "No Additional details." Just reaching out in case there is something I missed. Tagging the professionals too.

When I was working at the Toronto Stock Exchange I had to create some large documents with content that was being shared with another writer. I did not trust Word's Master Document feature so came up with my own solution. It took a bit more effort than using Master Documents but was stable. I've published my guide to working with multi-file Word documents on my blog in the hope that it may help others.

Re: Last boosted post, hmm wonder if the dialogue for creating envelopes still causes #Word365 to crash? i read through the What's new and saw no mention of it. Perhaps I missed it.

In other news I did call @freedomscientific and talked with the lovely Bill who was aware of the nasty #JFW2025 and #Word365 bug so it wasn't just me. #Yay hopefully a fix will be forth coming.

Wow, am I ever glad once again for the knowledge that @RhondaBracey shares! Elsewhere, she referred fellow #editor #colleagues who have #Word365 to this notification from #OfficeWatch: https://office-watch.com/2024/word-deletes-a-document-when-youre-trying-to-save-it/ . I have 365, and without getting the recommended update, I could have lost some documents. Whew!

update: draft - Ok so i figured it out. via search online:

“View > Disable "Separate Pages”

in addition “layout > orientation > landscape “ helps so its bigger. nice.

i logged into one other account to make sure the view held there as well and it does. nice.

I think I'm remembering right that in previous versions of #MicrosoftWord, you could expand the styles pane to the size you want & move it where you want it, where it would stay. But in #Word365, the pane keeps bopping around. Do you know how to stop that behavior? #AmEditing #Bookstodon
