or Greŝka. I thought I was seeing a modern Balkan inspired dance band after midnight. I don't possess the vocabulary to reasonably describe the band that closed out my day 4 but, I'll give it a nudge:
Imagine if TISM & the B-52's had a love child that was _really_ into Balkan music, metal, j-pop & only sung and spoke in Japanese on stage but looked like pasty Victorians who 3D printed their own nose flutes

Saw some red and black flags flying in the festival crowd today and found myself following this street band for the next half hour or so.
Notably they were being joined by other performers who happened to be in the area, especially indigenous performers.

Big, bold, brass party band. Loads of fun on the wrong side of midnight last night that I will definitely see again during the festival.
For the last song, 8 of them jumped into the crowd and formed a circle with audience members entering the centre to dance.
The crowd was going off.

Most powerful set so far. There was the expected grass-touching beauty but the _rage _ of new tracks like "Promises" was raw, breath taking and felt by everyone.

Great all ages circus, humour for everyone, although when the stage became a ballpit midway through, it was definitely the army of toddlers that were living their best life.

Just caught these amazing women from NSW at The Parlour. A brilliant mix of classical, bluegrass and their own compositions.
They gave away CD to an audience member who guessed the time to one of their songs (7/8, I'd guessed 5/8)
The violinist has 18 gigs in 4 bands over the next 6 days...

I saw The Slims at the #woodfordFolkFestival and their gritty brand of surf / cowboy phychadelia lifted the roof off the parlour.
That festival was rich with finds, as it always is, but The Slims are one of the few acts that line up their live shows and recordings, now that they're dropped their debut EP.

* Surprise Standout: Rob Carlton's one man show, "Willing Participant"A day that had "nothing of interest" to me on paper was chock full of amazing performances from artists I'd been unaware of before.
