For some days now the air smells strange as if there would be a fire nearby. But there isn’t one. Also no general information about fires in the surroundings. Is it possible to smell the wood fires from southern Europe around Lake Geneva? I know that Sahara sand is traveling far, but smoke?

I had the opportunity to take a Rocket Kiln workshop with Lisa Orr
her rocket kiln makes wood fire more environmentally friendly, which is awesome!
Lisa is also an amazing artist and teacher. I won't gush too much about her, but here's a peek at my table at the end of the 5 day workshop-with just a few examples of what I learned.
If you get a chance to take one of her workshops (she has some coming up)---I highly recommend! -

The "Great Texas Chainsaw Uruguyan Parrilla Experiment" was a success. The Santa Maria attachment from @ashandemberoutdoors made managing a pure hardwood fire in the Weber kettle a breeze. Meats cooked over a hardwood fire tastes so much better than propane or charcoal.
