#WIP almost done with my #Pikachu #Pokemon #woodentrain, and some basic flatbeds-prep (for future custom #woodentrains projects).

#StarWars #BenKenobi & #Yoda #woodentrains - done! Hand-painted. Wooden lightsabers, felt robes & Yoda's ears & Ben's facial hair, & Yoda's cane is tiny piece of plastic (that I heated in hot water to make the curled handle). 💜

I like to make figures for our #Train World, like the wooden #Olaf I posted a while back, and I thought these little #Frozen figures in the "cake decorations" set would be perfect. Some can't stand up, so I made #wood bases for them (painted them a hand-mixed "frozen blue"). Poor little #Sven arrived with only ONE antler, so I manipulated a little piece of plastic & created an antler. Happy to report my grandkids LOVE them, so YAY for these little characters!

So, this little Dino Fossil train car scared my 21mo grandson, so I made the little Mr. Bones a blankie and told my grandson he was "just nonnying" (nonny is our Macedonian-based word for sleep), and now he loves it 💜#woodentrains

Sometimes I make #frankensteined #woodentrains with themes of foods we love to eat, for our Train World whrere I love Playin' Trains with my 4yo grandson & almost 1yo grandson when they visit. I'm working on an Apple Train 💜 FYI ~ that apple was originally just a round bead, so yeah, sanding and shaping small wooden objects is a thing!

These old snowy trees (that belonged to my now-adult son when he was little & started our #ThomasAndFriends collection) would fall down all the time ~ each of their little round wooden bases just didn't keep them upright. So I paired them up, and made "snowy bases" for them (bass wood; textured a bit and painted white). Now, the #woodentrains "driven" by my 3yo grandson can all "rumble" past them without them falling down!

3yo grandson has always loved #mangos so of course I #frankensteined a Mango Train for him! 💜 #woodentrains

So far, my #frankensteined #Lexi has been the most challenging #woodentrain for me to create, but I really like how she turned out! So does my 3yo grandson, so yay!

I tried to get the two top "gears" to actually roll, I even drilled a hole thru the body & attached them on a little bolt through it; couldn't quite achieve a result. So my #frankensteined #ThomasAndFriends #TheoTheExperimentalEngine has nonworking gears (ie, experiment failed, lol!). Still, it is a success because my 3.5yo grandson LOVED it! He spent all day rolling Theo on the tracks: Theo was #reallyuseful, making many journeys pulling various cargo to diverse destinations! 💜
